Foreign graduation and knowing a foreign language helps in getting FSP?

AOA,

My father is a general and my mother just retired a few years back from the army, like them they want me to go into a govt. job too. i would also want myself to go into a govt. job, preferably the FSP. im going to an english uni in Germany for my UG in electrical engineering and will learn german language too. im good at studies too, i has straight As in my O levels n A levels. do you think a foreign graduation and knowing a foreign language already would help me to get into the FSP? and as both my mother n father are in the army, do you think that also affects my profile?

@Abdullah. Definitely, foreign languages will help you to join Foreign service of Pakistan. To be familiar with different languages will give u an edge in psychological test and interview. Keep foreign service job first priority.

Are you sure???

for CSS its only and only merit which leads you to some group.For Foriegn services the eligiblilty is same as for other services.if this is so the candidate with management background should be preferred for DMG.if merit permits you to get into FSP you can,otherwise you can never even if you know 10 Foreign languages.

First confirm it then Advise Aspirants

background does not matter in group selection. MBBS passed students join FPS and MS in international relations have joined DMG. I have seen several DMG officers who have been abroad for higher studies on the behalf of the federal govt. PSP do masters in criminology from abroad.

To be familiar with different languages is an advantage to be recruited in FSP but it does not mean a candidate will get anyhow post in FSP. Its all about allocation and top ranking.

but dont you think knowing a foreign language would be helpful in making the interviewers believe that the person has already been working in the line to get in the FSP? i mean if a language is already known isnt that an advantage as no time is wasted to make that official learn the same foreign language during the career? i just meant that as an advantage in the interview.

also, would a foreign graduation also make the chances better of getting recruited into the FSP? i mean a foreign graduation does mean that the person has been living in an international environment and has experience of interaction with people from different nations?

you some how get full 300 marks by impressing the panel with your language skills and foreign education...but you get 600 marks in written...which would make 900 in total...suppose the topper gets 1000 marks....and 20 to 30 candidates opt FSP as their first choice who has higher merit?so you cannot be awarded FSP group rather you have to join some other..

what i meant to say is that only interview cannot make your way clear...

and as far as your education is concerned,it will only be beneficent for you if you would be get allocated in FSP group...it will help you in FSP...but it will not help you get FSP....for this you have to perform in CSS...

for an examiner,a "B"grade bachelors degree holder and a foreign qualified are equal..so no advantage there bro..

@Abdullah. Posting in FSP is not anyhow attached with foreign degrees and knowing of foreign languages.
