Default Do PSP Officers get overtime?

Hello,

I registered on this forum just to ask this question. Do PSP officers who do late sittings after normal office hours like 9 to 5 or whatever their normal office hours are, get overtime for their work? Overtime is a regular feature of any job in many organizations. So how about PSP?

Government servants are not paid for overtime duties in normal cases as you may be refering to the employees with private firms.
perhaps they are paid in emergency duties like election duty, moving an special escort or casual TADA allowances etc.
But such duties are ordered in rare cases.
On regular basis they are required to deliver their duties any time the department needs them apart from their office hours.

More interestingly... a PSP when serves as DPO he does not need even his fixed salary.. he makes his own world out of his designation.... )))

so dear if you woried about monetary benefits of the PSP.... Be not.. they may exceed your expectations.... )))))))

Good Luck....

Government Employees upto BS-18 do get late sitting. Its a nominal amount, if you have stayed in office after 3 hours of Office Timing i.e. till 7 P.M. in Federal Secretariat.

However, as a CSP you need to work late at nights casually. The Joint Secretary of our Ministry is a DMG officer, who sits daily till, at least, 80 P.M. Though no benefit for him (since he is in BS-20), yet his staff does get late sitting, nonetheless they are not happy with their Boss...

Sitting late to perform official duties of diverse nature, that may or may not come under your designated work (distribution of work) may give you a place of prominence to the high ups. Such bright officers do get Honorarium too, that is at least one basic pay (discretion of the Secretary) plus one more (with the permission of Chairman ECNEC)...

Regards

Thank you all for the valuable information. I guess I always had a hunch that there would be no overtime payment for PSP officers. Alas.

Overtime is neither allowed for PSPs at any cost nor in any situation. While you are appointed in Police Services, then you have to sign the terms & Conditions as agreement that you will have to work in odd timings. A Police Officer is appointed for 24 hours duty. Neither in any emergency nor in elections etc. the PSPs are paid extra.
