@ mohsin1230
Yaar please do read other newspapers and magazines as well to develop your own opinion about a particular issue. No need to buy all these newspapers just read them online.
Best of luck.

however, you have to add up latest developments on hot issues later on. dawn in not compulsory, you may read any other good english daily. just go to main domestic and international news items and them editorials and columns by good writers, not all.

Let me know
Which newspapers other than daily dawn can be fruitful in preparation? Which columnists(names) are supposed to be good one in their discussion of various issues?

when i used to read the dawn newspaper, i maintained a diary to note down facts and figures from news items.
editorials were always a must read, specially the above two. i used to re-write them in my own language. that way words used in editorials became a part of my regular vocabulary and i also formed a mature opinion about issues. from opinions, i tried to sift out the relevant ones and maintained a archive of them along with important points of the article written on a paper in handwriting. these papers come in handy at the time of revision. but ultimately it was imtiaz shahid's book of contemporary affairs that came to my rescue in current affairs exam. i learnt how to write english from dawn newspaper. it was very helpful for me. but its utility for others may vary. regards,

Hi...
I personally believe 40% of prep is done via Dawn news paper....Those who just start CSS prep may not get its Importance, but the real value of it you will soooooooooon know yourself......It would help you in different subjects.... So far as its main headings ( First page) are concerned, it too is of high value....Here from you can copy a particular quotation of Obama, Pakistani leaders, Official reports etc.... However, don't give all of your time to it...Better practice is to maintain a note book for noting key ideas and points.... I usually say one thing about it ( news paper): "Here different writers write on different topics' different aspects.." All the best....

My experience
Reading Dawn dailyyis a torture!!! No dont waste your time in reading dawn....make a register, divide it into current topics, just add on the important facts and figures about the current hot and important topics every day....In this way at the end u will have the complete notes u need!! Reading editorial helps u make the opinion soo do go through the international and national editorials!!
