China- Pakistan relations
Pakiatan is one of the first group of countries that supported cjhiana by recognizing her inspite of hostility of west towards china on 21 may 1951 and both countries officially decleared their diplomatic relations ..since than sino-pak relation has witnessed smooth devlopment of friendly and neighbourly relations as well as mutually beneficial cooration …
The banding conference of aprail 1955 held under the protection of non aligned movement in Indonesia further tied up this relation …..as china was treated as an outcaste in those days and it was not given its legal recognitition at international lavel by us , and at that time cold war era had started between us nad soviet nations …….and china at that time had established good relations with Russia ..and Pakistan at that time had established good relations with us to save it by threat of India that had raised by occupiying of kashmir……….and south east asia became a battleground between emerging nationalist movements …….countries like India Indonesia Egypt formed an non aligned movement and India despite its claims being non aligned nation , maintain close relation with soviet union through professions of socialism and this reason caused us tyo establish friemdly relation with India and for this reason us provided highly sophisticated arms to India during sino-india war of 1962 ,, that alarmed Pakistan …… though Pakistan had close relations with us yet Pakistan established friendly relations with china vbeacuse of inclination of us towards India that appeared to be ignore sensitivity of Pakistan …..
Mr Bhutto the founder of ppp and forign minister of Pakistan in government odf ayub khan had improved relations between china and Pakistan bu convincing priesdient ayub, consequently Bhutto visited Beijing ,which led to the signing of trade and military aggrements with chiness whereas china supported Pakistan in number of military and industrial projects …he also signed sino-pakistan boundry agreement on march 1963 that transferred 750 square km of territory from Pakistan adminstreted kashmir to chiness control …. Afterward in 1970 paksitan arranged historical visit of hennery Kissinger to biejing which opened the way for formal recogination of china by us… in 1971 the ppp government kept relations with muslim countries and china as periorty …. Mr Bhutto had realized that Pakistan existence could be assured by attainment of necular capability and also by building better relations with middle east ……. At this paksitan had threat from us ….
1970 saw the sound development of sino Pakistan relation .in November 1970 pakistan’s prisedent yahay khan visited china while in power z a Bhutto three times respectively 1972 1974 1976…. In 1974 beijing Karachi flight was opened after that zia ul haq visited chaina in 1977
1980 saw frequent exchage of visits between chiness nad paksitani leaders and further consolidiatin and development of friendly relations and co-opration between two countrirs .. in 1090 the great international sitiations took place and instead of being affected sino-pak relation had firther developed ….and then the chain of frequent visits started between heads of both countries that witnessed improvement in trade . many new projects nad agreements ……
China strongly supported pakistan china and Pakistan also shared close milatry relations china supplied a range of modern arnaments to Pakistani defence forces ….chaina supports pakistan on Kashmir issue while paksitan supports china on xinjiang , Tibet and tiwan issue..recently military copration had extended with joint projects producing arnaments ranging from fighter jets to guided missile frigates …chiness hve invested in Pakistani infrastructure expansion , including the noted projects in the deep water port in gawader both countries have constant free trade agreement ….. both countries have arranged about 12 agreement during the visit in field of economic and technical coopration , free trades minerals petroleum, and natural resources environmental protection . radion television . space technology ,agricultural sector ……….resecntly annual trade between the the two countries is over $7 billion …….
Pakistan china being in friendly relation to each other kept close contact in cultural field since the eastiblishment of sino-pakistan relations, noth counyries have sent cultural delegations and groups and exhibitions ….. in march 1965 yhe representatives from both countries signed cultural agreement in rawalpandi……
Pakistan has served china ‘s main bridge between muslim countries …. Pakstani leaders with regards to foreign policy have always been in fqavour of china instead of us .beacuse it is noticed that us only used Pakistan in time of need and then by avoiding Pakistan it turned towards India to get benefit of large consumer mart there , while china has always been steadfast friend of Pakistan …the recent Mumbai attacks witinessed the ideal example of it where us joined hands with India in accusing Pakistan whereas china warned all other powers to restrain an invasion of Paki
