Difference between idea expansion and Essay..? Difference between idea expansion and Essay..?

Default Difference between idea expansion and Essay..?
please differentiate between essay and idea expansion... apart from length is all that same?? i mean, for example, in an argumentative essay we have to provide arguments in favor of the topic or against it and are not supposed to provide both views....

what about idea expansion is that the same way or one should provide both for and against arguments and then provide a conclusion.... since most of expansion topics are Proverbss....

Please comment on this and fix my confusion ....

very true, infact expansion is the precise of an essay.
in an essay you have to go in depth of analysis, while expanding an idea you have to summerize your content in as fewer words as you can.

expansion does includes the same outline as an essay:

Introduction
Body. {Relevant examples}
Conclusion
__________________
Self-confidence is the first requisite to great undertakings.
