help
hi,
I have a few questions related to the essay... 1- Can we use sub headings? 2- should I actually give just an idea or thesis of the essay in the introduction and gradually explore the reasoning behind it? or should I start from a basic definition and slowly reach my point in the 2nd 3rd paragraph? 3- Lastly, can someone help me with the quotations? Are quotations necessary? how do you know which topic you're going to select that you'll know the appropriate quotations? Awaiting your response! |

Quote:
No You cannot. It is prohibited. However, Very few have passed the paper with giving headings. Still it avoid using it is better for us. 2- should I actually give just an idea or thesis of the essay in the introduction and gradually explore the reasoning behind it? or should I start from a basic definition and slowly reach my point in the 2nd 3rd paragraph? Thesis statement is necessary in Essay, especially general essays. However, There are certain essays that which need to be defined first then to be explored such as essays on Science. 3- Lastly, can someone help me with the quotations? Are quotations necessary? how do you know which topic you're going to select that you'll know the appropriate quotations? You can pass the paper without giving quotations. If you don't find any suitable quotation, leave it otherwise you will face penalty. You may give at least 4 quotations in one single essay. Try to remember general quotations related to hot topics. All the best for your paper. Pray for me as well... |

Quote:
b) Outline is the skeleton of essay. It is to be drawn before you start writing your essay, while in essay there is no need of writing your point in heading. However, You need to write in each paragraph a topic sentence that is like an expansion of your idea that you have mentioned in your outline. |

Best Essay (my Opinion)
Normal essay can impress examiner to some extent, But if we use language which has been used by Englush Scholars i.e T.S.Eliot, Earnest Hemingway, G.B.Shaw etc. This essay would impress the examiner to a great extent.Length does not matter, Major thing is the thought behind every sentance. So if you want to score good marks in Essay, read essays by english scholars and adopt their writing style.
Best of Luck....!

Does the length of essay matter? I have heard many confusing things about it. Some say it should be precise and to the point while some say it should be lengthy? I need reliable answers from seniors.
