Default Gutter Shape

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM!

A question is creating problem for me regarding Science that
"Why Gutter is in Circle Shape, why not it is in a rectangle shape"?

Can anybody tell me about this logic?

Thanks

it has a simple answer.....if ur gutter is blocked then it is very easy to put in or bring the things out from a cricular opening rather than rectangular or trapezoidal etc. ....

AOA,

Thats because of the fact that circular shape covers maximum area, as compared to other geometric shapes.

Talking Because.......

From sanitation and drainage point of view, litter and liquid wastes can be easily cleaned and shifted from one place to another through ways with curved and circular sahpes. Round pipes and such passages are more suitable for the said purpose hence no rectangular-shaped gutters and drainage passages are observed throughout the world.

Default The Big Scientific Issue...The Gutter

The question in EDS exam 2004 was that why COVERS of Gutters are round in shape?

What a stupid question that was. So I wrote (That was my 1st attempt) that in our area covers of gutters are rectangular in shape. So the question is wrong as it gives the impression as if all the covers of all the gutters throughout the world are round in shape which is not true. So I clearly wrote that question was wrong.

Next question was why clothes of dancers bulge when they dance?

This was another stupid question. So I wrote that as per the latest fasion, dancers now dance either in skin tight dress or without any dress so no question of bulging of clothes can arise in the present day fasionable world.

After insulting the question, then I tried to expain why clothes of dancers bulge if they dance in old fasion clothes.....

I gave similar type replies to most of the other questions.

I GOT 38 MARKS IN THAT PAPER.

Now however I have decided that I should accept that I myself am a stupid so I should learn only this type of stupid and mean "knowledge" because now this is going to be my 3rd and so last attempt.

Quality of knowledge should not be opted at the cost of passing the exams.

I have done research work in such scientific fields as speed of light and Newton's Laws of Motion.

This stupid research work has no importance at all and now I know it very well that I should only learn why covers of Gutters are round in shape.

My advice to new comers is also that read only from syllabus point of view even if syllabus is really very stupid.

As Machiavelli puts is, 'means are subordinate to ends'. We should be concerned with the ends, more than means.

Best of luck for your third attempt. I will pray for you.

Yes William James also says something like: "Truth is what we practically get".

Previously I was against this view. I thought just running after practical benefits was not the right thing. Practical life, as I know today, is more real than my previous ideal life. Anyway thanks for this valuable guideline that: "means are subordinate to ends".

Thanks!

Default Why are man-holes circular ?

The correct answer to this question to the best of knowledge is :

Man-holes have got a constant diameter. As a consequence of which if it is tilted it would not fall down. On the contrary, rectangle, square etc dont have a constant one and they would fall if tilted ..

My question is why dont we see birds peeing/urinating ? EDS 2004

Yes FPSC really asks this type of very interesting questions.

Well I don't know its exact answer but what we can see is that they do only 'beets'. May be they don't possess kidneys at all.

Secondly, the question is "why don't we see"?

It's logical answer may be that bcoz we do not want to see bcoz question is "why we don't see" instead of "why we can't see".

Another logical answer would be that probably they do some 'invisible' peeing ..... so we don't see it bcoz after all question is not "why birds do not pee" but is "why don't we see".

Still another logical answer can be that they do peeing in very small washrooms in their nests. Since those washrooms are very small, so we cannnot see inside them. "SO WE DON'T SEE"....

Another possibility might be that they do peeing only when they find no human being around them. That's why "WE DON't SEE".

Anyway please dont be "logical" in the paper of SCIENCE.

Since I do not know it's exact answer ... so let's wait for the right answer suggested by someone.

Thanks!
