Exploring the World of SCIENCE!
Let's explore the world of science and it's development since 1600 AD. From today, I am going to share very invaluable knowledge regarding science so that you may know WHO DID WHAT throughout the ages.
From 1600 to 1610: DE MAGNET a study of electricity and magnetism published by WILLIAM GILBERT,who also discovered that earth is a magnet. FIRST TELESCOPE Built by Dutch. Astronomical use made public by GALILEO. CANNON-BORING improve the resilience and effect of cannon after 1603 HEELS on shoes became common in EUROPE. ELLIPTICAL MOTIONS OF PLANETS discovered by JOHANNES KEPLER. His TABULAE RUDOLFINAE made possible the future of planets. FIRST COMPOUND MICROSCOPE built by DUTCH. From 1610 to 1630: LOGARITHM introduced by JOHN NAPIER SULFURIC ACID produced in GERMANY by distillation of IRON or COPPER SULPHATE. TEA First time in EUROPE by DUTCH EAST INDIA CO. HYDROCHLORIC ACID prepared by J.R GLAUBER FIRE ENGINES used in NUREMBERG CIRCULATION OF THE BLOOD discovered and explained by WILLIAM HARVEY. |

History of science
From 1630 to 1645: COPERNICAN SYSTEM of planetary motion developed by GALILEO as superior to the Ptolemaic PRINCIPLES OF FALLING BODIES and of PROJECTILE MOTION propagated by GALILEO ANALYTICAL GEOMETRY developed by RENE DESCARTES and DE FERMAT PARABOLOID LENS devised by DESCARTES, to avoid aberration of shape in objects observed through a lens. STRENGHT OF MATERIALS theory formulated by GALILEO after studying the bending of beams. PRINCIPLA PHILOSOPHLAE by DESCARTES, explained his vortex theory of planetary motions. ADDING MACHINES capable of carrying numbers devised by BLAISE PASCAL. A machine able to multiply by repeated additions invented by GOTFRIED LEIBNIZ. COFFEE first reached in Europe. From 1645 to 1660: EVANGELISTA TORRICELLI predicted that the pressure of atmosphere would fall with increasing altitude. Confirmed experimentally in 1647. PHYSIOLOGY OF RESPIRATION and of AIR investigated. HUMAN BODY began to be explained mechanically by philosophers and scientists such as DESCARTES and BORELLI. ARITHEMATICA INFINITORUM published by JOHN WALLIS, included infinite series and products. SATURN'S RING discovered by HUYGENS SCIENCE OF GEOLOGY developing fr6 the work of AGRICOLA, began with investigations into structures, origin, and age of rock. |
