Default Is O levels book of Islamiat enough for current revised Syllabus of CSS ?

That O levels book of Dr. Farkhanda addresses most of the revised syllabus as far as I have seen. Do you think that alone would suffice the preparation of Islamiat ?

I studied that book back in 2005 and scored 94% in O-Levels Islamiat, however the great FPSC has just recently given me 30% in Islamiat after preparing from that book and some other resources. So I guess Matric/FSc Islamiat or any Madressah course is more in-line with FPSC's criteria.

Really ? That's so sad. In my opinion , the FSc Islamiat content is no match with O levels' Islamiat book. I have done both and I know how extraordinary O levels book is.

What other resources did you use anyway ?

FPSC and our CSS is better than Cambridge University and Her Majesty's Civil Service of U.K (Sorry I have got very cynical and sarcastic nowadays, I guess it is part of growing up haha)

I used O-Levels Islamiat book, csspoint's notes and a compilation of notes by a senior qualifier here on the forum. I also compiled a long list of important Ayat/Hadith and remembered them in English.

Well. I was referring to comparison between F.SC Islamiat and O levels Islamiat. Of course , cant deny the fact that CSS Islamiat is more comprehensive and elaborate.

What strategy are you adopting for preparation now ? I'm sorry to bother you again but having a fellow who knows the O levels Islamiat makes me inquisitive. It's my first time and I really want to give in full nitro.

No strategy, I am focusing on going abroad. But don't worry, just give your best.

I prepared from F.Sc book but flunked with 35 marks. So, I think we lack in quality or examiner don't like my extreme views.

I have definitely much more faith in Cambridge University's O-Levels exams than CSS exams to be honest. It's not mine or your fault, fault lies in the examiner. This is why I am highly against targeting of papers, instead everyone should get deserving marks and then the top 400 or 500 people be called for further testing. This way exam will remain credible and people will be happy too. We should also move towards a completely computerised testing and grading like it happens in the GRE exams.
