For Islamic Studies' preparation in English, read Islam: Its Meaning and Message by Khurshid Ahmad, and, A document on Islam by M. Asghar. These are sufficient ones.
For strategy, download the Sticky study plan http://www.cssforum.com.pk/css-compu...islamiyat.html, and cover the main areas from the books aforesaid.
