Precis paper was easy. This time around essay is the deciding factor. I was wondering: has anyone of you attempted imagination is more important than knowledge? I was told that It is going to be a disaster for me..! Still I hope for the best and wish everyone Luck

i am afraid of grammar part. Rest was easy including mcqs. Yes i have attempted imagination.

Well, it all depends on how convincingly you had furnished your arguments.

I have similar concerns for my essay; I had picked Digital Democracy: social media & public participation. Anxious because I had run out of time; my plan was to write a neat outline after essay writing, however, when I got short on time, the outline I made in a hurry was not up to the mark in terms of cosmetics & details. Will I pass it guys?

Will any of us pass it? ALLAH knows or FPSC does. Better to wait out the remaining time than be anxious about it every minute of the day.

Yes, indeed its ALLAH WHO decides our fates. But just wanted to know how much marks are given to the outline of css essay; I really hope it is not the make-or-break point & that the examiner will go through my whole essay.

Well, if it is about solace, my first attempt I had 68/100 in essay. So, on good authority, I can say that outline does begin your essay but it's not everything. If your corresponding paragraph compliments your outline, you're good. Rest, luck matters.

Impressive score Mashallah. How much do you expect this time around? I guess almost every one was caught off guard this time in essay with the paper hardly touching national issues.

Ive also heard this from different people that the examiner will award 40 marks provided that a candidate has a good written expression, even if s(he) lags behind in knowledge or has a terrible hand writing

Yeah. You get passing marks i.e. 40/100 for grammar and syntax structure. Scoring above is relevance, organisation, quotes etc. You may also be awarded the same if majority of people have attempted the essay and your information or grasp of subject is relatively same as others. Since "imagination" essay was attempted by many this year, most people with good essay writing might still end up at 40. Others who have attempted any topic other than it, did not have good facts, strayed from the topic but wrote fine grammar are likely to score higher.
