Yes im from punjab. My first attempt was really good. And i was confident i would pass and perhaps this confidence lead to me passing. As for the interview... the panel wasnt really in the best mood because an office boy messed up something, i dont remember what he did exactly. But they asked me around 25 questions (mostly token questions) and except for 1 question i knew everything. And the psychological was a breeze too. Its really fun actually

The worst part of not being allocated was that i wasnt so far from the last person who got allocated from punjab but everything happens for a reason, or so i like to believe.
BUT
I was depressed for MONTHS lol

Just two things you should all remember
1). Passing written means nothing unless you actually get allocated. Which is very sad

2) after passing written you must maintain an even stricter schedule for the viva. Do not waste one minute. And do not listen to other peoples views about how their psychological and vivas went. People will leave no stone unturned to make you feel anxious about your own turn. Just focus on your prep.

You are right. Maybe last time you wouldn't have got your group of choice. This time, you remember the pain and misery and that will push you even further towards your goal. IA you will get allocated to your top preference this year.

How was the result for the rest who gave their 2nd/3rd attempt this time around?

I had 667 marks but had 30 and 33 in Essay and Precis respectively.
