Exclamation Trend CSS-2009

Dear Folks,

Let's try to identify the trend for CSS 2009 (those who didn't make it):

I took 100 random roll numbers and below are the observations:

1) Majority fail in English Essay (>95%)
2) Those who fail in English Essay, do not necessarily do bad in English Precise but they surely secure low marks in Current Affairs, and Pakistan Affairs.
3) The surprising thing to see was that in those 100 people, a big chunk of the majority scored above 50 percent, and the median fell somewhere on 55. That means that majority opted Islamiat in Urdu (because if you fail English Essay n score 65 in Islamiat:: I guess it makes it obvious)
4) The students who opted Indo Pak History fared well:: The average score for those 100 people was over 100. I saw instances where people scored around 144 and still did not make it.
5) P.A and Pushto are the subjects that will never let you down. I did not come across a single failure.
6) People who have failed either in Compulsory or were short in the Aggregate field fared better in Journalism especially. This means Journalism should be one of the choies for 2010.
7) Geography was opted by a few people, as compared to the previous trend and the guys were not able to fare well in it.

P.S::: Addendums to these observations are invited. Please note as well that it is just a statistical approach to it. Might prove otherwise as well!!!

Some coclusions ;

journalism turned into a low scoring subject whereas in case of Sociology veice-versa.

Indo-Pak relatively gave away fair score.

Everyday science was quite difficult this year ,resultantly yielded low grades.

Pak-affairs and Current affairs maintained their reputation of being all time low scoring subjects.

Essay proved to be the Killer mountain.

English Composition did not allow beyond 60.

Islamyat was unusual but remained friendly.

Islmaic history set new marking limits this year.

All Laws remained mediocre.

Urdu allowed decent score.

Geography as usual kept the flag high.

Overall Result : unpredictable, and this unpredictability is expected to continue ...

All the Best

this is what i said earlier...there is a link between being good in expressing your self in English and doing good in the General Knowledge portion, Especially Current Affairs and Pakistan Affairs...they also demand an essay sort of answer with no definite answer most of the times....

Red face

This year marks have completely diluted the myth of scoring versus non-scoring subject. e.g (Indo-Pak and Journalism)
The vital conclusion is one should always choose subject according to one's aptitude and interest. If prepared thoroughly and improvised well during the paper you can score decently. I say decently as there is still a little bit of luck factor () involved.

I did not go through Political Science because i did not opt for it. Pukhto will never let you down inshallah. Offcourse if you want to achieve 65+, a lil bit of effort would be needed.

Anyways Work on your English ....N i mean work alot!!!

@ Umarabbas.

Your observation is quite right. Indo-Pak really gave good marks this year as the papers were easy. Even though the essay topics were quite general but still so many ppl failed in essay; that seems beyond comprehension. GK papers have also done the trick for many ppl.
