2008:- It was not applied in 2008 except we heard about one candidate from Sindh. 2007 Suitability Clause: - At least 21 Central Superior Services (CSS) examination candidates have fallen ‘victim’ to the Suitability Clause. It was applied on the candidates of 2007 under the patron of Lt Gen Shahid Hamid (Retd). Victims:- Falak Sher (number 57 on the merit list), a candidate from Punjab, has been declared ‘unsuitable’ for a job in the District Management Group (DMG) and has, instead, been assigned to the Customs Department. Syed Mashkoor Ali (179 on the merit list) and Fuad Ghaffar Soomro (116 on the list) belong to Sindh and have been assigned to the Income Tax Department instead of the Customs and the Police (which had been their preferences). Dr Mohammad Junaid (merit number 154), a candidate from Balochistan, has been assigned a post in the Pakistan Railways instead of the police. Mehmoodur Rehman Khattak (merit 37) has been assigned to the Customs Department instead of his preferred choice of the DMG. The affected candidates said that this was the first time since the establishment of the FPSC in 1977 that the clause had been used in “such a reckless manner”. Daily Times Reported

@Crown Prince
The Generals ruined the career of the meritorious candidates in 2007.It was not fair, infact.What happened of their petition? |

I don't agree. Scoring high marks by cramming for 1 or 2 years is not guarantee to be MERITORIOUS. Your personality matters a lot. Generals don't reach this position in a single day, they are seasoned and well groomed personalities. Don't be biased that all Generals are same. B+.

FPSC has power to exercise suitability clause following the reports from psychologists and it is their discretionary power. Although it remained inactive for years but used in 2007, it was also used on one candidates of Sindh in 2008. The petition of candidates was not fruitful and could not redress their grievances. I hope a a petitioner will reply elaborately about petition.

A candidate from Sindh was declared suitable for PSP.Later he was admitted in a hospital for having psychological problems.GREAT SUITABILITY .He has been reallocated in any other group. The psychologists put pen pic of the candidate before the interview panel.If the candidate is fit for any group he is given such marks as to enable him to fall in that very group.His merit postion is raised. But a candidat who has lowest merit and is allocated in higher groups is unjust,whatsoever. A candidate scoring 605 and getting DMG or PSP is an insult of the merit. If group allocations are to be made according to the suitability then the FPSC should not announce the merit list of the candidates rather the successful candidates should be allocated in the suitable groups. I disfavour the unjust execution of suitability clause against the merit of the candidate. |

My Respected friends! Suitability is the right of FPSC. Dont u know how ISSB people refuse hundreds of candidates just on the basis of this suitability. We must thank FPSC that we can appeal against it or we can get other groups. In ISSB if they dont deem u fits you are OUT!!
I have seen many candidates who were die hard fans of forces with extra ordinary academics but still rejected in the name of suitability. Atleast FPSC tell u that where u faultered. Just think about ISSB aspirant who are not even told their weakness if any. I think we must be thankful that an institute like FPSC exists in our country where anarchy is prevailing the system.
