well u can always get one in the next attempt and many of the people with a merit number aren't in a better position than yours as only 283 would finally get allocated and the rest (myself included) would still be in your boat.

@Rabia.
Nice effort commendable.

Correction. You have placed Mr. Imran Hussain Ranjha Merit no 10 in PsP open quota for Punjab. However he has PAS/DMG as his first preference. So kindly amend it accordingly :-) and there is 1 seat reserved for female PSP and 1 for minorities.

I dont agree/disagree with you. You may have better exposure about both of these groups whereas I dont have info. This was what I have heard from a credible CSP.

However, I must say it is not the preference number which makes a group better, rather it is commulative factors of work environment, public interaction, hyfy facilities, prototcol, exposure, trainings, scholarships, power and influence. While arranging preference people try to keep the group at top in which they find what they want the most from above factors.

Personally I thought IRS better than PCS, so I am getting IRS. IRS could be less charming in some ways than PCS but am sure there will be, at least, one thing I would be happy about IRS.

So, Alkhamdullillah whatever Allah gives me.

PCS is better even than FPS. It is third after PSP & PAS. The facilities are equal to these groups. IRS officers do not get much facilities & power.

Well, you are right. But the point I would like to make is it all depends on personal preferences. For example, mine goes like this: FSP, DMG, PSP, ..........

As far as PCS vs IRS is concerned, I simply wash my hands , I know very little about both of these groups. So can't comment.

FYI

During CTP , one is not allowed to appear in next attempt. If someone has plan to appear in 2012 exam he will not be able to join with this batch!!!

If someone was planning to appear in 2012 attempt with CTP should review his decision. He is going to miss one thing this time

I am sure it will be a shocking news for many people but it is the case
