By the grace of Almighty Allah, I have cleared CSS 2012 written part. Iam currently doing masters in Germany and I have one year to the completion of masters. I have heard that I can defer commons training after clearing the interview phase. Is it true? Secondly, can anyone tell what are the expected dates for Psychological and interview? Because I will to make arrangements to come back in order to give psychological and interview. And are psychological and interview is done on consecutive days or there is gap between them of few days. I will really appreciate if someone provide information and correct course of action especially those guys, who found themselves in the similar scenario in past years.

1) Yes, you can defer your joining after you receive your joining letter from the CSA. It's the very last step of the CSS selection process.

2) The medical test will be held first. I think we will receive our medical letters within 1-2 months now, depending on our provinces. Last year, the written results were announced on the 1st of December and our medical test was conducted on the 24th January, if I recall correctly.

3) The psychological test consists of tests held on two consecutive days. The interview with the FPSC chairperson and his panel takes place on another date altogether, which can be a week or even a couple of months after your psychological examination.

These are last year's dates for me (the might be off be a couple of days!):

Results: 1st of December
Medical: 24th of January
Psychological: 13th and 14th of February
Interview: 24th of February

I am from Lahore. But, the problem here is that all the dates are quite distant, which means that I will have to come multiple times. This is a big problem as it will cost me great. Is there no other way for the people currently residing abroad. At least, all the requirement shld be made in consecutive days so that it becomes easy for us to come once and fulfil all the requirements like interview, psychological, etc.
