Arrow Aspirants cleared 2012 with less than 6 months prep

It is requested to all the aspirants who have cleared 2012 written in less than 6 months preparation, please share your experience and way of study with your optionals.
The reason being that it will help aspirants of 2013 finalizing their optionals and to know which subjects really get hit by fpsc, as we dont know the subjects(optionals) of those who have cleared the written part.

i have cleared CSS written part with 4 months preparation. my optional were indo-pak history, journalism, sociology, public ad, and punjabi.

do smart study, plan out a strategy. in my case i gave myself target of completing one subject in 10 days, except indo-pak history, it took around 14 days, as one have to remember dates and events etc.

current affairs should be prepared on daily basis, as per the recent trend having grip on current affairs helps you in every general subject, questions are more subjective, you need to give your opinion and analysis,

DON'T let CSS get on your nerves, stay calm, be consistent, give yourself (achievable) targets, and if you accomplish them, treat yourself/reward yourself. it will keep you motivated

work hard and pray alot

do pray for my interview everyone

Thanks alot for sharing your valuable suggestions. Can you please share how much time you studied daily out of 24 hours, and did you join any academy? and how many subjects you were able to complete in 10

days. and were Islamiyat and Pak affairs also included in that??

I did it in my first attempt with around 5 and a half months of preparation.

Indopak, Sociology, Public Ad and Geography were my optionals.

Get the required notes/books etc ASAP and start preparing on the lines of past papers and you will rock Inshallah

thanks alot for wishes and prayers, that is all what i need

1) i said in my earlier post about setting a target for yourself, don't fix time per day rather set a goal that you have to complete lets say 4 topics in a particular day, and then don't give up without completing them, no matter how much time it takes, time allocation varies from individual to individual, i.e; one student might take 2 hours to have a grasp on a particular topic while another could do the same in 45 mins, and no one else could judge your abilities better than you yourself. in my case i gave 4-5 hours to study in oct, nov and 8-12 hours in dec, jan. and as feb was the month of exams so had to put extra efforts.

2) yes i joined an academy in sept last year, but went there just for a week or so, took guidance, and notes and then left it, then started self study on 7th oct.

3) when i started preparation, it seemed to be an impossible task to complete a subject in 10 days, i thought to myself that it would take at-least a month owing to the lengthy syllabus. but as i did not had enough time at my disposal so completing a subject in 10 days was the only option i had.

4) yes islamiat and pak.affairs are also included, i attempted Islamiat paper in urdu, and as father as pak.affairs is concerned, its syllabus overlaps with that of indo-pak paper 2, so i had more time to prepare for it, like 7 days of indo-pak ppr 2 and 10 days of pak affairs preparation, so you can say that i gave it 17 days.
