I am feeling myself caught between the devil and the deep blue sea. It's my last chance and last year(age wise because with difference of a few days I lie in the category of overage) Though I am somewhat scared yet I felt happiness on seeing revised syllabus. It really needed a lot of amendment so better late than never. But regrouping of subjects threw me in a whirl of confusion.I am not in a good position to try new subjects but on the other hand I feel that aspirants would be given relaxation this year as examiners wouldn't have any set expectations.
With all fears and hopes,I am ready to see this sea of unseen

I am gonna appear for CE-2016 for the ist time (second chance age wise) so no other option left. I think it is a huge opportunity and I should give my best shot.

Default Confusion regarding grade

AOA, I completed my bachelors degreein year 2014 with 2.42 cgpa. Now I'm planning to take css 2016 attempt. When I checked the educational details it is written as

"No candidate who has obtained a Third Division (or 'D' grade where result is declared under Semester System) in his Bachelor's Degree will be eligible for the Examination except in cases where he/she has obtained a higher Division in Master’s or Law Degree or where, from time to time, the Federal Government may relax the condition in respect of under developed under represented areas. "

My question is I got two D grades in my degree. Is that a problem ?

Although I completed my degree in first division.

Please reply. thanks

Nope,It does not matter. They are talking about your overall grade.
Your overall grade should not be D.They don't care at all about individual grades

Somewhat I'm facing a similar problem. Back in 2010 I started preparation for CE2011 but owing to certain issues, i had to quit prep. since then i remained completely out of touch with css prep. Now I'm determined to to take Ce2016 and God willing i will try my level best to make it in my first attempt. I would like to know about your previous attempts. what were your optional subjects? what went wrong with your first attempt? In which subject you failed.? and as the syllabus is revised and few new subjects have been added. which subjects u have opted now?

Good luck for your first and last attempt.

My first attempt in 2011 was quite non serious and I had no idea about the worth of that chance. As I had no preparation so I could not make aggregate but passed two most dangerous subjects i.e essay and English by securing 45 and 50 marks respectively. It made me confident that English is my strength so the next year I again appeared. That time I made aggregate but failed in G.K by 14 marks. It was not luck, in fact it was my fault as I didn't try to improve my weakness. But the positive thing is that I secured 54 marks in essay and again 50 in English.

Optionals 2011.
Urdu,Indopak,Journalism,sociology.

Optionals 2012.
Arabic,Journalism,sociology,punjabi,Muslim law

For 2016 I have not decided my optionals yet.As it's my last chance so I will not repeat previous mistakes and I will finalize subjects carefully.

I thought you appeared for CSS-2015. Good luck for your last bullet. Hope it will hit the target. And be serious this time around. You are intelligent but careless.

let me clarify, I have two more chances to avail.as i said earlier that I was to appear in 2011 but due to some unfavourable circumstances, I was unable to do so. you have done tremendous job in both subjects. Essay and composition often prove nightmare for many aspirants, besides, sound analytical skills, one's level of competency can be gauged from one's performance in these subjects. Undoubtedly proficiency in english language is a Prerequisite for css as It plays crucial role in determining one's fate in exam so when you have got command over english then its not a big deal for you.anyway Best of luck for your last attempt. it would be helpful for us if you could share your experience and strategy regarding Essay and composition preparation,
