Opting new subjects can be productive but only if you have access to a quality library or if you can afford to buy 2-3 suggested books prescribed in the syllabus. If you qualify any one of the above mentioned preconditions then option new subjects would be more rewarding than option the old ones. Otherwise, go for old subjects.

I am not appearing in CE-2016, but I think it will be beneficial to opt new subjects.

New subjects need more time and extra effort but if prepared well they will be rewarding
