aoa

hope ma post findz u in good health n spirit.

now as far as ur query iz concerned the gss mediacal rules clearly state that

"To be passed as fit for appointment a candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties of his/her appointment."

so i believe that if u strike a balance ov vision between both eyes it may not interefere wid da criterion ov selcetion in css. however for certain groups like police it may b a considerable issue.

but on the other hand the mentionin ov the fact that each eye will be examined separately can b a point ov apprehension in ur case.

howeva um jottin down the general rules for css medical assessment regardin vision for ur convenience.

The candidate’s eye sight will be tested in accordance with the following rules. The result of each test will be recorded:’

(i) General-The candidate’s eyes will be submitted to a general examination directed to the detection of any disease of abnormality. The candidate will be rejected if he/she suffers from any squint or morbid conditions of’ eyes, eyelids or contiguous structures, or such a sort as to render, or to be likely at a future date to render him/her unfit for service.

(ii) Visual Acuity, -(A). The examination for determining the acuteness of vision includes two tests—one for distant, the other for near vision. Each eye will be examined separately.

for Police group

The Army test types will be used for the test for distant vision without glasses at a distance of 6096 millimeters and for the test or near vision, without glasses, at any distance selected by the candidate.

hope i have been ov some help

regardz

@Kashif1000

A better and fast way to find out your eligibility regarding eye problem, is to check with an eye specialist. I would share my own experience of medical examination by CSS medical team.I was told in my CSS medical test, that you have squint, but I was never told by anyone in my life that I have such a problem. So I consulted an army eye specialist and he told me that I have not any problem and I am fit for army. On checking again by that CSS medical team, they accepted the army eye specialist view and cleared me. In your case please try to consult an eye specialist and he would clear your apprehensions. It would be better to consult some doctor from federal government hospital as they are more likely to test you in your medical examination and also more aware of medical standards laid for CSS candidates.

Regards

@ambrosial

Regarding eye test, will it be done wearing your glasses/lenses or is it done with out them. As in, my eye-sight is weak, i wear glasses so do I still have a chance or eyes should be 6/6 in order to qualify as a CSP officer?

I mean, once I am wearing my numbered-glasses, my eyes r closer to 6/6 position, say 6/9. Kindly provide information on this.

Thanks

aoa

hope ma post findz u radiant n agile.

khair 6/6 tou buhut ideal situationz mein hi ho skta hay kisi css pass krnay walay bnday ka..

rulez meiny jot down kr diye thay.. now as far as i remeber i took ma glasses wid me (though i donot use em and i have only minor weakness in ma distant vision). howeva i don rememba wearin em for near or distant vision test.
i think wid ur glasses aid u shud make a 6/6.

waisay it isnt a major issue as far as u don have some major eye disability (khudanakhavasta).. so chill !!

P.S waisay i can understand ur apprehension at this stage ... i remeber me n ma friendz gettin so tensed ova this medical issue.. but now wen i remeber it na tou i feel ..errr.. funny k hm kitnay kiddish hotay thay! or us wqt agr koi kehta tha na k koi baat nai it is nt such a big issue u will fairly pass through n it n all dat.. we used to look at da "advisor" wid weird loox k hmari jaan be bani hy aur "inhayn athkhaliyan sujhi hyn.."
believe u me u will feel da same wen u will go through it smoothly! (inshallah)

koi tension ki baat nai jus concentrate on thignz which demand ur efforts mroe than this medical issue.

hope i have been ov some help.

I found a link
http://www.css.com.pk/news/css_2009.htm
it clearly says that if a candidate is disable even he/she can compete in CSS.
it says

Disabled Candidates:
Disabled candidates in the categories of physical, hearing/speech (deaf & dumb) and visually impaired (blind) are allowed to compete against four Occupational Groups/Services viz: (a) Commerce & Trade Group (b) Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service (c) Information Group and (d) Postal Group, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria of education and age limit as mentioned above.

Hope it clears all questions.
