I wanna start this thread only for those who have qualified 09 exam and are desperately looking for help both from senior csps and experienced guys around the forum.. Since i have been through the process once so i would love to share my own experience with u guys and wish that every one perform their best in the show... well, i would keep giving my humble advices to the ones who chip in to this thread and i would like to request all my 37th commoners to contribute to this thread as much as they can. Equally important are the valuable advices of the senior commoners 36, 35 etc who can take time out of their busy routine and contribute to the thread just to pave the way for the qualifiers to make their job easier and effective...

bro for psychological testing what should i prepare the most my optional subjects were chem british history journalism muslim law so bro guide me on what aspects i should concentrate the most in both psychological test n in interview and i also want to ask is which books u should mention in fav books question can i mentions my subject books or only the novels that i hav read and tell me is it right to write Adolf hitler as ur fav personality coz man i lovd that guy he was a man of axioms n i hav numerous points about him to back him up plz guide me

Dear, Is there any weightage given to psychological test in the form of marks. If yes then how many marks are given to it. Or it is conducted just for the necessary information and help of the interview panel.

In our psychological test what precisely needs to be prepared.??? just current affairs.??? Should we also go for our optional subjects or leave them for later stage of interview.

first of all decide all the answers you ll write in your psychological proforma in a coherent way which should present a complete composition of your personality and your outlook towards life
this ll decide the parameter of your interview and later on you can start studying the relevant material

Journalism

R these subjects are needed to be revised for further procedures. Kindly suggest your kind remarks.

Thanks all for contributing to the thread.. well, to answer a few general questions i would sum up as

1. u dont have to prepare anythng for psychological tests. just be yourselves altogether.. dont try to simulate or dissimulate or assume any form or shape.. stick to the particulars that u have sent in your Form II and if possible, keep a photocopy of yr form so that u can see it on the very day of psyc test if yr particulars are needed there.. i mean there should not be any change in it.

2. Any personality can be yr favortie whether Hitler or Chomsky, or Nelson or Benazir Bhutto or ZA Bhutto or any other. the thing is that u must remember his/her date of birth, parentage, main works, political or intellectual etc and the basic philosophy of their work..

3. U all must study a book of yr choice just now and try to remember its theme or main idea. cos they will ask u about the author, his life and the main idea of the book. u must remember the main points in the book and also the structure of the book whether divided in chapters or sections or parts or what. and also about the number of pages of the book. this book can be from psychology, astronomy, religion, politics, ethics or any other field of yr choice..

in our turn i.e. css 2008, they mostly concentrated on current affairs, field of specialization, controversial issues, problems of pakistan, groups choices plus personal life. i was asked just two questions from constitutional law. that's it. the trend will be visible once the interviews start in any center.

even if they pose questions from your optional subjects, you don't have to study them in depth. just read your notes once. concentrate more on the other areas.

The first day consist of series of intelligence test and apart from that a form is to be filled.

Autobiography to be written in 10 minutes.

Two favourite personalities(Living) are to be mentioned on the first
day of Psychological Test.

Three favourite books and reason to choose them.

Your five merits and five demerits in the eyes of friend.

The cherished moments(important steps) of your life.(Not exact wording)

Quality of your mother and father and weaknesses.

thanks for the wonderful advices u ve given but i some more queries. i want to ask u the following things:

1. i have very limited job experience (i have done two internships) and im doing my mba, do u think my limited experience of practical world will become a hindrance or so? it sholdnt becase my intelligence matters more than my experience bt i want to know ur opinion.

2. for psychological qestions n answers, plz recommend me a book from where i can prepare IQ tests? i want to be fully prepared abt everything.

3. n plz tell me when is this test held after announcement of result so that i have a tentative time duration for preparation in my mind. n from which center do u think this test starts from?

4. do u think "My feudel lord" as my favourite book will be a good option? i love that book but i dont know whether they wold like it or not.

please help me in this regard. i will be thankful to u
