indo pak a low scoring sbject

indo pak is low scoring sbject. bohat se candidate kehtey hain main ne itna parha or utna parha... but still they r saying that they got very low marks... so i m worried abt me as i dnt have enough time to give it,,, plz seniors guide me in this regard... i dnt know how people use maps as maps can only be use for victories of dynasties.... and i have observed in past paprs no particular question for sultan's victories and invasion.... plz help is it important to give 4 and 5 months to it..

wel idont know is it ur first attempt or not..but i believe that if ur not well prepared dont waste ur chance.. indopak is low scoring and wil remain so in next 2 or 3 years..draw maps whre it is needed like invasions..i had opted indopak in2011 and although i passed which i was not expecting, but scored not well..i had drawn map in indopak 1, in the question of invasionof m.b qasim, andin paper two regarding the question ofeast pakistan, to clarify the location..i think maps give u credit if u have drawn in the right question...plus i had nt prepared before the drawing of maps i just used to look on themaps and had pasted in my brain the locations, thankGOd am good in visual learning :P :Panyways goodluck and dot get worried...ifur confident go for it otherwise dont waste chance..

i scored 84 in total
A: 33
B:51
worst result no doubt but still as per my prep i was not expecting to clear..and i had prepared past papers ONLY..didnt go through the whole syllabus, not even revision the reason was that i was stuck in my job and had quit at the eleventh hour..and yeah map in paper A was a bit wrongly drawn, but in B it was ok..but still draw map if u have time and appropriate question, i drew as i was not confident about my answers so i took help from it..and yeah in2008 the girl who was topper dr.noor ul ain, she also had indopak and had drawn maps in the paper, but at that time this sub was scoring, now the trend has a bit changed for some time...

I have read all of yours liabilities regarding the subject INDO PAK History In CSS exams.I have appeared in the CSS-11 exams with the above mentioned history subject.I got passed all the subjects but unfortunately, I could not get aggregate although it was my first attempt and that too with 3 to four months preparation because of my tough Electrical Engineering job.In Indo Pak I got 107(51,56) marks which is not a striking figure all together.But dear fellows I want to mention that all of yours concerns are true but the real thing is that opting and getting graceful marks in Indo Pak is not only drawing just maps because its not the paper of drawing rather it is the paper of narration, description,analytical approach,historical in-depth drawing of the facts worth significance in the long and glorious annuls of history.The simple thing is that don't follow just single author at least you should have two authors at yours study desk for the indo pak.

its not about maping only but knowing the exact location of particular place .

Its not about mapping....Its about concept and analysis along with how much different you offer to the examiner so that it makes a different. Apart from that the most striking thing for good score is that how you comprehend the question and how you answer the comprehended question.

Example: Analyse the impact of the conquest of Sindh led by Muhammad Bin Qasim.Is it correct to say that this conquest was a mere episode in the history of Sub-Continent?(2011 question)

What is needed here is not the map but examiner is trying to check your opinion that what do you think about this event of History. What were its impacts and what were the effects of this invasion. Whether it is a mere episode or it has got any significance. No need of map and it is useless.

And yeah Indo Pak is relatively low scoring subject because its questions are very logical.
