Even don't think that you will attempt those translation questions, prepare Imra ul Qais and Zuhair's Muallaqa as well as Hazrat Hassan's (R.A) poetry, if it comes from these three then well and good but if it doesn't then you must not make your mind to attempt these questions.

Focus on other theory questions. I tell you the method. Do prepare the question of Quran's impact on Arabic literature and language, quote from Ahmad Zayat's book in Arabic (original text), also quote from Quran itself. For example I made a point in question about Quran's impact on literature that poets also followed the Quranic style in poetry, now how I substantiated my stance, see following:

:قال جریر بمدح عمر بن عبد العزیز
نال الخلافتہ اذا کانت لہ قدرا کما اتی ربہ موسی علی قدر

Now its impression has been taken from an ayat of Holy Quran, so I proved my point. Similarly I always substantiated my point through to the point examples.

Similarly I had prepared Abu Tamam well so I had the option of attempting these questions. I gave his 5 verses and reference of Fahaul Shura and Diwan ul Hamasa. A question on AlNaqd al Arbi was also prepared well.

So in a nutshell, you still can reap profit if do little hardwork in right direction. No subject is scoring or non scoring if you can do justice with that, but at the same time general trends do matter. one must be realistic. I you want to stick to Arabic then prepare it well, it won't disappoint you.

Regards,
Bilal Hassan: Brother from where I can get these books of Diwan ul Hamsa and Abu Tamam?

Default Should I stick to Arabic?

Brother I don't think that it would be wise to stick to a subject which may prove to be a nightmare. If you has any alternative like some regional language plus another 100 marks subject or some other 200 marks subject , say sweet good by to Arabic.

My dear you had asked me for Arabic poetry books, so I answered your query. Logically these books have to be in Arabic language. Diwan ul Hamasa of Abu Tamam is the anthology of poetry from the age of ignorance till the Abbasid era. While Sab'aa Mualqat contains all 7 odes of the age of ignorance. Both these books are in Arabic language.

Dear I would suggest you not to opt Arabic as it is bit risky. If you can't understand a question, how would you answer it! Don't take risk as it is your last attempt. That was my sincere suggestion now you yourself decide what to do.

Regards,

Arabic will be risky as per its current trend, if you have good grasp over arabic language, then opt it. Otherwise, other scoring subjects are better to opt.

Good Luck..

Wa Alikum Asslam

Thank God I'm promptly answering your question.

You must study following books:

A comprehensive English Grammar by Eckersley & Eckersley
A Practical English Grammar by A.J Thomson & A.V Martinet

Plan:

You must start from Basic Concepts like Parts of Speech. You must identify what is the function of a particular part of speech in sentence. This will help you form the correct syntax. You won't make syntactical mistakes.

Then moving forward, you must focus on structures, for that purpose study the second book, it would make you acquainted with advanced grammatical structures and tell you how to use them correctly.

Lastly, practice what you have learnt. Read quality books, identify what you have learnt in those sentences and then imitate their style and you are an expert. Aristotle said "We are what we repeatedly do, excellence then is not an act but a habit." Practice leads to perfection.
