120 in geography 1+2 is a very safe bet. Keeps the demons away. I am sure most of you must have attempted a paper of 80+ plus but expecting anything above 120-125, in my humble opinion, might turn out to be disappointing in the end for many.
Everyone has been harping the drums about how GENERAL and EASY the papers were, but most of us forget that it's the analytical papers where aspirants score low e.g. Current Affairs and Pakistan Affairs where people seldom cross 55 marks barrier.
Same goes with the essay exam. As a rule of thumb, a person should consider himself/herself fail in the essay exam unless FPSC says otherwise I hardly know anyone whose essay paper didn't go well and still the majority flunks essay. So I would say just rein in the positivism a little for now. InshALLAH all of you and the remaining candidates will make it through in the end.

That's true! Everyone's happy with their essay paper this time around but I am afraid it's the essay which is going to be decisive for CE-2013. Most of the essay topics called for extempore writing and the commission is going to test GRAMMAR and language through this tool. Added to that will be the low score of GK considering changed pattern for EDS and PA.

Yeah. Just to highlight the grammar thing, here's something I found on FPSC's website. It's FPSC's official take on the quality of English Essay scripts of C.E. 2009

Majority of the candidates had produced crammed knowledge obtained from available stereo-type sources. They had invalid and expired pieces of information/knowledge without any sense to update it. However, 5 percent candidates showed commendable originality of approach, precision of comprehension and clarity of expression. MORE IMPORTANTLY, ONE THIRD OF THE TOTAL CANDIDATES WHO APPEARED IN THE SUBJECT HAD NO LOGIC OF THE BASIC ENGLISH GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION AND SENTENCE FORMATION.

Here's the source file:
