(1) Quartz is a:

(b) igneous rock
(c) sedimentary rock
(d) none of the above

or

(1) Which of the following is a metamorphic rock
(a) Marble
(b) Shale
(c) Quartz
(d) Sandstone

So solve all the options. Don't just look for the right answer. for example: to make short notes, search what is marble, shale, quartz, sandstone. So 1 MCQ will prepare you for 4 more MCQs because if you had solved the 2nd MCQ thoroughly (and not just look for the correct answer) you would have been able to answer the 1st one easily

P.S This was for illustration purposes only

Dear, How many MCQs did u mark correct in your both attempts in Geo paper?

Dear I had the same background and the same troubles plus I could not cover a lengthy syllabus. Geography is a good subject for sure (its more like mathematics - either you know it or you don't. and with a few diagrams, you can secure very healthy score). Its not a purely cram test. it is a science subject and therefore it has concepts

but I would like to add that I have heard a lot about Psychology and its reputation as one of the scoring subjects. I believe it is a good option but for some reasons I could not go for it.

Hey Sahar

Please include these topics in your Geography 2 Preparation (treat them as a must):

(1) Human Geography:
(a) Population: What are the different measures of population calculation (Densities etc), Population Distributions, Population Trends, Average Ages, Median Ages, Reasons for Population Densities etc, Settlements and different types of Settlements, Different Theories about Settlement Types and Trend, Over population, Urbanization Globally and in Pakistan, Migrations and its types, Rural Urban Migration Globally and in Pakistan

Important Topics include: Environmental Determinism and Possibilism, Reasons for Population Growth Trend, Fertility Decrease etc

This topic is very interesting and is easy to cover

(b) Culture: What is a culture? How does it change? What influences it? Languages etc.

(c) Generic Topics: Scientific Revolution, Industrial Revolution, Agricultural Revolution (Green Something forgot its name), Colonialism, Industrialization, Globalization, Trade Blocs etc

(d) Commercial Geography: Economic Activities, Major Industries and Crops (I skipped this portion) because if you cover the above then you can easily skip this section. But Economic Activities types is easy to cover (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary etc.)

(e) Generic Information of Pakistan: Rail Network of Pakistan, Road Network of Pakistan, Trade of Pakistan especially within the SAARC umbrella, Agriculture of Pakistan, Land Profile, Forests, Tourism in Pakistan etc (You should also cover these because they are easy and will be helpful in Pakistan Affairs and Current Affairs)

P.S Don't use books for stats and facts and figures. Use the UN official website (Population Density of a Country etc)

MCQs for Paper 2 are totally generic (If you have a sound General Knowledge base, you will be able to do most of them). Obviously for MCQs, like the rest of the subjects, it is very difficult to find a shortcut. You will have to cover the length and breadth of the Subject in order to achieve good marks (or rely on Luck )
