AOA to all aspirants..

Journalism is very much easy subject to be covered. In order to prepare fully for this subject must cover following topic:

1. Communication *(complete topic)
2. Public relation
3. Advertising
4. Militant journalism and Pakistan movement
5. Freedom of media and Pakistan
6. Mass media
7. Past papers objectives

***NOTE: These TOPICS will cover 60-70% of the written part approx:

Ya true. These topics do. But now it is far vast than before, means to rely on these topics only is not sufficient, as far as recent papers are concerned.

Right. Study thoroughly is good, but to work hard, work smart and be selective too.

No dear!

The trend has been changed and Journalism should not be considered easy now. If you have seen the paper of CE 2010, The Subjective portion was tricky but Objective was looking easier one. I appeared in CE 2011 with Journalism again The objective was tough and i prpd frm last 10 past papers bt could nt find it easy. However the subjective was easy.

There r nt few topic to be covered.
In my best of Knowledge Go through one good book like Introduction to journalism by Abid Ali Tehami. It is enough.

Regards

In CSS no compromise with some topics.

Smile everything is easy...

I am not agree with you brothers because one year paper could not change the whole trend. In 2010,paper was almost same as it was in past years but marking was very much strict due to some reasons. Every topic was same but unfortunately result disclosure was changed.. Go check these papers again dear.

@All
I appeard in css-2011 and i felt the journalism's paper is gonna b tricky now just like Islamiyat ........look at the islamiyat paper 0f 2010 and FPSC maintained the previous year's trend in 2011 too.....and in my opinion slowly and steadily they are going to make css examination more competetive because they are demanding analytical skills ,updated knowledge and tricks to understand the psychology of examiner.

May be it is true but it will be clear after declaration of the result.

But question is how to brace ourselves for the new trend of journalism? Previously MCQs could easily be done by going through the past papers but MCQs of 2011 paper were outside the past papers. Now which book should be referred for the MCQs?

Second question relates to the subjective portion of the paper. Up to 2010,questions were repeated. One could easily attempt the paper by studying the solved past papers. In 2011 a new trend was set in. Four general questions were asked. I mean we had not studied these topics from any book. Now how these general questions should be covered?Which book should we refer now?

Output is required for these questions from all worthy seniors and members.

@TheUniter
I think to combat these more general and analytical papers, we aspirants are required to open our eyes and ears.For the preparation of a particular subject we must have knowledge related to course outline but remember merely bookish material is no more helpful to acquire good score.

@Andleeb-At least four questions of the journalism paper of 2011 are not in the course outline. Then how can the course outline guide us?

@TheUniter
yup ......the questions were tricky but one can't say that they are'nt from course outline..They(FPSC) have changed the method to question but these questions could be aswered if one was well aware of the general concepts...All you need to relate your knowledge with the question given in the particular question.
I think you hav'nt read the course outline even once...trust me if you get even basic concepts you would be able to relate your knowledge and may not be worried.
