U just have to write the essay in persian and translate the paragraph into persian , the rest of the paper can be done in english/urdu. and its a scoring subject ... a member of this forum Mr. Arif Wazir opted it and scored 147 in it ..... he just went for a 3 months course from the cultural center.

IF U HV LITERAry bend of my u must opt for persian.its very very easy bt it requires special attention.....the most amazing thing abt persian is that it is prepared only once.u dnt need 2 revise persian again n again like political science or history.

Exclamation for all aspirants of css who are interested in persian
i appeared in css 2007 & scored 75% marks in persian.there are few querries in this thread i would like to express my opinion.
1) to get good maks in persian there are few prerequisites:firstly command on language, secondly to hava a literary taste because persian literature is predominantly poetry and finally hard working. any one who doesn't know ABC of persian language his/ her hope of getting good marks will dashed to ground
2) RECOMMENDED BOOKS
a)Tareekh adab nama e Iran by prof Maqbool badakhshani
b)Gul-e- Farsi A & B by jahangir publishers
c) Quarterly magazine 'DANISH" published by Pak Iran cultural certre Islamabad.
as compared to other opyional papers carrying 200 marks persian is easy and scoring.

how would you expect to attempt papers in english?
so learn persian... U dunt have to ace it though but learn it well enough and go for it....
