i have no background in psychology but as its an arts subject so i think it can be opted .... what do u guys suggest ? and plz do suggest some good books for preparing it.

yeah! you can opt it if you have any science background especially biology, BTW its not arts its science of soul and mind. And its really intresting subject you can go for it.

yeah sure! actually u need to study it from basics so i'll suggest u to study INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHOLOGY 7th edition from CLIFFORD T.MORGAN,RICHARD A.KING,JOHN R.WEISZ & JOHN SCHOPLER. and if it suits u than u can also go through BSC's psychology text book by SHER BANO(will help u alot).

psychology needs background...........so think 100000000000 time before taking this subject as an optional...........see what other suggest u but it is my personal imagination...........wait and see other messages abt this subject.

I have psychology as an optional. Before deciding whether or not to go for it.. see content of this subject. i analysed most people are scared by the name of the subject rather than what it contains that is why no one cares to read its content. it has so much relevance with sociology, biology, medicine..
This subject is quite scoring , a friend of mine grabbed 145 in this subject. All you need is to produce your answer with relevant terminology, which i think is pre requiste for choosing any subject. to attempt paper with examiners point of view who is specialist at his subject requires you to choose those words and terminology..

let me briefly mention here contents of this subject here so that u have good view of it.


learning theories....classical learning ....operant learning...


motivation..... this has relevance with many other subjects such as public adminstration, sociology, journalism...

personality

intelligence

brain and peripheral nerves system... if u have this upto level of intermediate biology u can grasp it with little more work..

child developement.... much of this involves same concept as of sociology but u will need to work on it.. much of the work relates to understanding some core concepts and putting it to memory...

schools of thoughts. well this again has roots n links with psychology, pub ad. and journalism to some extent. integrated approach might help in it.

If you want to know about books. i would suggest you to go for virtual university's CDS n its lecture notes in addition to any good book. keeping this in mind you can also look out for short notes on internet... n have them fotostated for use.
