Default Recent trends in psychology

In 2005 & 2006 a question appeared in the paper, Comment on the recent trends in psychology.

Can anyone shed some light on what this is referring to? exactly what is the thing being asked, are these the modern perspectives of psychology or something else?

Dear fouzia thanks for your reply. But i really dont think that the questions appearing in CSS exam would be asking about this. This is a research article and it has really not found its permanent place in the textbooks of psychology.

Now fpsc will not be asking such a topic in the exam, which is not knows to the general student body.

I still feel that the questions were aksing for soething else, in my own guess maybe its referring to the recent perspectives of psychology, but then I am not really sure about that.

I think it basically refers to the kind of work/research currently being carried out in the different fields of psychology, for e.g. in the behaviorist school using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques with the special/disabled population has become extremely popular. Cognition, neuro-psychology and positive psychology are other examples. U need to know what areas are psychologists focusing on in the recent years, in Pakistan CBT has become a very popular method as a manual of it has also been translated in urdu.

If u want ur answer to be really impressive, mention tht the DSM V (which is gona be published in 2013) the proposed changes in it and the research tht led to the proposed changes.

(Home | APA DSM-5)

(American Psychological Association (APA))

(sorry i know it seems like a lot of work for just one answer)

Talking

Sir, modern perspectives simply amount to the schools of thought.
You will also have to, however, put some light on following modern perspectives in addition to the four traditional schools of thought:
- Biopsychological Perspective
- Sociocultural Perspective
- Evolutionary Perspective
