Default Basic questions need to be answered?

I think, every aspirant who have sociology as opt know the answers of these basic questions of society. OK, then let's see;

1) What really happens when a society collapses?
2) Can a society do anything to prevent a collapse?

Please illustrate your answers in the light of the Pakistani society before and after its birth and give its any example relating to above asked questions?

First of all thier are different types of societies. Society in broader sense means like what we generaly see around, in which we live which have some tradations, customs, norms, value and rules. Other aspect of societey confined to group only like literly society, society of african black peoples, and so on, even society is the term that is used in having company if freinds and persons whom we know and meet daily. Now what happens if society collapses that it will vary from society to society. Society is like an instiution if an instittuion collapses it will have bad impact on its members and peoples and things associated with it as for instance if society in broader sense collapses then it will lead to anarhcy, crime, riots, no law,no norms, no values, no tradations and culture. it will lead to disharmony among peoples.

Yes society itself prevents from collapsing as in shape of forming unity, following norms, traditons and culture and such kind of thingss

Default @ghulamhusain and 6561

dear fellows here our focus should be sciology for css. both the question are irrelevant. infact societies never collaps. there is no such broader concept in sociology in general and in css outline in specific. i dont want to prolong a discission which is not fruitful for css. i hope u people dont mind it.

regards

I am agree with Touqir and will suggest you to make things as simple as possible. Dont make things complex. But dont afraid of asking any question, you are welcome for any sort of question.

As for as i know the subject of sociology which i prepared a lot and out of way.
Society may disintegrate or you may say society decays.
there is a saying by Bertrand Russell that

" A general Rule of decay of a society is that when is comes into contact with a civilization superior to it"

Generally In the subject matter of Sociology the terminologies of Culture, Society and Civilization are synonymous to each other.

So, if we see in the present context, we can see that we people of Pakistani society are very much influenced by the western Culture specially dresses, style way of living and food. We are much affected by the technological revolution in information technology. now there is free flow of information. we are fascinated to adopt western cultural patterns, norms and values. we like their movies and want to be like them. In this way gradually we are diminishing our own cultural values and norms. This thing is more vivid in city or urban society as compare to rural societies of Pakistan where people are more ethnocentric. As u can see here we like Indian films and their heroin and heros are our heroin and heros. This is also call media war in which one country wants to destroy the local culture, traditions and value system.

There was a historcal statement by Indra Gandhi that we have conquered Pakistan through our media. So, dear media is playing it's role as mentioned by Marchall McLuhan "

" Medium is message" mean it does not matter what message you are using rather the medium is of real worth. So is the case with Television and cable TV are culturally invading our old customs, values and norms. You can positively say it in Journalism way that we are gradually moving toward Global Village or society.

So in a nut shell, if we are not contributing well in the field of Technology (as we cant produce a lock which is also imported by China) and Media we cant preserve our society. This concept is relavent concept. May be at this time it is called societal Decay but in future the new values adopted are deep rooted in our society and becomes order of the day

Its a very broad and debateable topic discuss more if you like hope u will get something
Feel free to comment
