dear brother, dual approach means favouring both perspectives....favouring privatiztion as well as non-privatization.... for me, one must be specific and must favour one view with logic......dual approach shows confused personality....
Dear,i am not here to criticize you...what i meant was that this is the forum where aspirants get the required knowledge,so the knowledge imparted here should not be to one personality caliber ...you cannot deny what eminent authors and writers of English ESSAY say regardless of the fact that is it convenient to you or not....You wrote that dual approach is failure, and many people have taken two sides in the essay especially in the Education essay, indirectly you are discouraging them...Now can you tell me where is it written that do not present two sides in the essay?or is it convenient to you only to work on one aspect of the essay?i presume this is the best way to split essay in two parts if you have sufficient knowledge and favor any of the part as a judge, this is what is written in Exploring the world and many other books of Essay writing.
My advise to you is do not say what is only comprehensible and comfortable to you but say what is generally accepted.now, about approaches towards essay writing, you can go in favor or against the topic and also can present the two sides by favoring one aspect or side of the essay.

I attempted " Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent". The most regrettable thing for me is that I could not manage time. I wrote outline in last 3-4 minutes and could not do justice to it..
My essay went somewhat like this..

1) Introduction:
Started essay with this poem by Rudyard Kipling:

“For agony and spoil Of nations beat to dust,
For poisoned air and tortured soil
And cold, commanded lust,
And every secret woe
The shuddering waters saw
Willed and fulfilled by high and low
Let them relearn the Law.”

Related Kipling's reflections with mankind's sufferings due to wars and violence. It was a general view of violence.

2) Genesis of Violence: A Factor Analysis
* violence the dark side of human disposition

" But Thy most dreaded instrument
In working out a pure intent,
Is man, - arrayed for mutual slaughter,"

* how this dark side comes in action
(i) competent versus incompetent
(ii) powerful versus weak
(iii) violence in retaliation

3) Violence in Pakistan: A Case Study
In this part I narrated how my aforementioned hypothesis apply, as factor, to violence in Pakistan
(a) agenda-based violence
(i) violence by terrorist groups_ retaliation due to incompetence
(ii) by seperatists_
(iii) by sectarian groups_

(b) human rights violations
(i) violence against women_ powerful versus weak
(ii) against minorities
(iii) against ethnic groups

(I related each type of violence with the underlying cause)

4) Prevalent Violence_ the crux of the Argument

5) Remedial Measures: Stepping Towards Peace

(a) steps on adminstrative level-Strategic approach
i. Addressing genuine grievances
ii. Dialogue and reconciliation
iii. Preventive measures
iv. Improving security apparatus

(b) steps on social level_ anthropological approach
i. Ideological warfare
ii. Role of religious institutions
iii. Role of civil society and media

6) Conclusion
Summed up all stating if holistic approach is taken, with conviction peace will not remain an elusive dream. Concluded on these lines of Budha:

"Better than a thousand hollow words,
is one word that brings peace
Better than a thousand hollow verses
Js one verse that brings peace"

I am much worried about my essay. I could not project my essay well through outline. It was drawn hurriedly in last minutes. Later on I was also thinking that I would have, better, written on literature and culture but that time as the empathic cult overwhelmed the literary estheticism so I ended up writing this. God knows it was a good decision or a bad one :(
Attempted 4th one:

Women sportspersons are new ambassadors of the soft image of Pakistan

Dear i read your outline. It is good i hope you will succeed. My outline was more referenced on causes of less women sports in pakistan and its remedies but what i think there is one aspect that we have all missed the word new in the statement required a paragraph on comarison with old ambassadors like nusrat fateh ali khan, abda parveen , noor jahan and other actors who are contributing towards the same. Dont you think so???
Out Line...Give your valued opinion seniors.
Great Nations win without fighting.
Probably no nation is rich enough to have both war and civilization, make your choice we cannot afford both.
(Albert Ellis)

Great nations cannot fight to cause sour wounds on surface of mother earth as:

Greatness lies in peace.
Prosperity lies in peace.
Peaceful nations leading the globe.
Peaceful nations a demand not a deed.

Greatness cannot be achieved by fighting.
Fights...humans betrothing humans.
To befriend an enemy is to finish an enemy.
Victories of force....short lived.
Winning without fighting is long lasting.

Great Nations that won without fight...A glance at history
Arabs...establishment of Muslim rule and changed dimensions.
Scandinavian Nations..... Germany, Finland etc.
Establishment of Pakistan.

Only Peace can make progress.
China..... a sleeping giant.
Malaysia...Robust economy
Srilanka, Finland, Switzerland.

Fights can cause downfall of nations;
Fall and decline of great nations: Paul Kennedy
America....fighting webs entangled and engulfed its economy.
India wasting its potential.

Peace is constructed not fought for.
why do nations fight?
when suppressed and oppressed (Egypt, Syria,)
when justice fails to deliver (Tunisia, Kashmir).
when minorities are injured (Myanmar).

Establishment of peaceful nations: dire need of globe

Green planet getting red...
Love humanity indiscriminate of caste and creed.
Let,s not wage wars in name of Peace
Let true Democracy deliver
Address the problems of humanity
Let us establish the great nations to heal the wounds of mother earth.
If a nation wants an everlasting winning, it has to win without fighting as great nations win without fighting.

Come close, remove your sandals from your feet as the place we are standing is holy earth.
superb!
I wrote on "Great nations win without fighting".

I opted to write against this topic. In introduction, I briefly discussed the broader meanings of "fighting" i.e indulging in military wars as well as struggling, competing, contending etc. From this view point, each & every nation must continuously fight with its rivals & competitors on different fronts (socio-economic fronts, cultural invasions, geographical, media wars etc...) for its survival as well as progress. After evaluating the topic from historic as well current perspective, I concluded by saying that nations can't even survive leave aside winning. Let's see what happens. I guess I wrote 1500-2000 words essay & could not get enough time to re-check the essay as I wasted more than an hour in topic selection & making outline etc.
I think you are the only person on this forum who has rightly comprehended the topic. You will, undoubtedly, pass the essay paper.

Great nations win WITHOUT fighting... What exactly is the meaning of "fighting" here? How a nation can win without fighting against illiteracy, economic inequality, diseases... You have to fight to bring economic stability..you have to fight to get education.. you have to fight against the diseases.. Those who wrote public welfare, rule of law, economic and technological advancement wagara wagara are the ways to win without fighting, how it is possible to win without fighting against the hindrances and difficulties in bringing stability..
And the second thing, what is great to you might not be great to me.. To america, china is not a great nation, it lacks innovation, greatness does not only depend on pure economic power. To muslims, jews are not great. To christians, jews are great. What actually makes a nation great?
The topic is ambiguous :/
