Bahawal Pur as New Province
Demand for Bahawal Pur as separate province is getting fire and key figures of south Punjab central to Multan are very active in this movement. They also claim that new province may be recognized as Suraikistan.
What do you think, is it justifiable?? |

i dnt think so tht dividing the larger provinces into smaller ones may resolve the problems of our country..
dividing provinces into more wants new govt. for them..new schools..new hospitals..new amendments and new rights.. according to my point of view we have make betterments to which we have not to create new prblmz and new issues which are of no use.. and also itz the only duty of govt. to resolve our prblms..it is a duty of each individual..each of our individual efforts..no matter how humble, can bring about a positive change and it starts wd a smallest of things-our attitudes..

Dividing provinces into smaller bits will make the centre weak which has already trouble controlling the entire Afghan/Iran border. This will give rise to further ethnic conflicts and communal violence, having small autonomous regions within Pakistan will eventually enable these indvidual parts to seek succession as indepent states or even countries leading to eventual balkanisation of the country. If anything Pakistani government needs to work on policies to diffuse ethnic diffrentiation and segregation. If we continue on this path the future is indeed bleak
Also add some source to back your argument, randomly making a statement on behalf of masses is not worth the argument

Yeah I agree it takes a lot of resources, but one good government should reduce its expenditures on foreign tour's personal facilities and protocols and provide it to backward areas either directly or by division of larger provinces into smaller ones. and division of larger provinces into smaller ones may dissolve Sindhi, Punjabi conflict, Sraiki-punjabi conflict, Muhajir, SIndhi, Punjabi-Pthan, Punjabi-baloch, Baloch-Pathan..as in smaller provinces the identity of people will dissolve, there would be two identities, like one on caste, tribe and other on province, in such case, there would be less discrimination. and smaller provinces would also find more difficulty demand for separation.. For federation to be strong it would be more easy to follow divide and rule policy. And smaller parts are easy to govern and monitor. But I only want that divisoon be based on administrative bases rather than ethnic.

i m totally in favor of new provinces.most of u think that by creating new province more funds will required. In fact by creating province the funds which were previously utilized in Upper Punjab (Lahore )will be distribute equally. We are not demanding for new thing .It is basic Right of citizens of that area that their funds will utilized in concern areas rather than lahore

Why Suraikistan??
Supporters of new province Suraikistan claim that all the funds, facilities, jobs and everything is limited to central or upper Punjab and south punjab is deprived from basic infrastructure. Due to backward area they may not compete with other parts of punjab resultingly ignored. So as separate identity they would have separate budget, quotas and funds ensuring boundless development in the area. Thats true
But this movement is not led by general public instead mere key figures behind want to secure their own benefits. Once they are succeeded, they will be lords of the province , they would rule the assembly and open enjoy whatever they have dreamed for.

There is no harm by creating new provinces. Formation of new provinces will not affect the powers of centre. All the nations should be given the right of self-rule in accordance with the integrity of federation. Thus the monopoly of certain classes and nations can be purged and frustration of down trodden nations can be removed.
Prosperity of the masses and provision of facilities to their door steps guarantee for strong and stable federations and this can only be ensured by giving right to self-rule (provincial autonomy) to every nation. Construction of new provincial capitals, schools, hospitals and other institutions means development and prosperity of the people. Regards,

This issue was raised by Mummad Ali Durrani of Q League recently.
The question arise here is that why did not he raise this issue while there was govt. of Q league for many years. ? |

if new provinces are formed ,can this solve the problems of those areas?
can this remove poverty and other miseries? problem is not one or more provinces, problem is governance. making new province may provide oppurtunity for new people to come forward and have good governance. same people, same governance, same politics, same provinces. making new provinces looks like a theory waiting for experimentation. results may get positive or negative. Does it affect federalism?does not look like so. but how many provinces this country needs to move on the path of development?
