Unhappy men rights in css allocation......:)

plz read! some guy wrote it in a paper........does it realy happen,..man rights r being assaulted....i just cant stand it..:P
here we go:
THE much disputed case of CSS 2009 has been finalised and the passing candidates have been allocated seats in respective departments as per the policy of the Establishment Division in the light of the decision made by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on a petition registered as allegation to allocation of competitive examinations 2008.
The petition was registered on the way of allocating women quota in seat distribution. The list issued and displayed by the Establishment Division has astonished all and sundry.

The allocation, according to the list, shows the candidates’ merit and department in accordance with merit number and department.

In the allocation for Punjab — and all the other provinces as well — there was something for male candidates to ponder upon.

The last merit for male candidate falls in Office Management Group (OMG) with a merit number of 226 (open) whereas all the seats that followed next to the merit have been awarded to women candidates.

In the list the last merit (open) of women is 313. Hence male candidates between 227 and 314 (68 total of them and out which many would have been in allocation lists) have been rendered ousted from the lists of selected candidates.

It is not to say that the decision made by the worthy Supreme Court is not right but the reality of the matter is that the allocations on the basis of merit seem to be unsound and confusing.

The formula decided for provision appears Greek to everyone who saw that list. There is a very strong case of dissatisfaction among the sufferers of this decision.

The women are already provided with a quota of 10 per cent as per the constitutional basis but the allocation made does not appear to attune with the soul of open merit and hence the allocated seats appear to be violating the spirit of competition.

The seats on the 10 per cent quota are allocated separately as well. Consequently, one fails to understand the logic of the decision in the light of which the allocations have been made.

If that is open merit then what of those who have been ousted despite being a legitimate position holder of the seat?

Why have the women been given all those seats which are solely reserved for open merit without any gender discrimination?

According to the precedence, the decision will surely be lifted on judicial planes for the sake of justice. When we talk of open merit, then the allocation must be made on open merit, without any gender discrimination. It must be so as women quota is also intact and those seats are exclusively for women candidates.

There can be no male in place there. But, rationally, what is sauce for geese must be sauce for gander as well. If there is open merit, then there appears no logic to allocate seats for female-only from the described open merit.

The seats, hence, must be on merit. From the meritdesignated seats, there must not be siphoning off of the seats exclusively for women.

With women quota intact and entertained as a separate entity, the open merit must stay unbiased and explicit. There should be no injustice.

It must be noted that the deprived male candidates are to be seen with the prism of fairness. Agreed, there should women empowerment, but men should not be gauged in an unjust manner.

If there stands such a law, it must be debated as we have a rich history of constitutional amendments in near and far past. Of course, this is not to discourage or malign women, but the aboveboard and fair autopsy of the matter is required.

If there is fairness, then there will not be more burdens on courts to hear such cases in the time to come. DR SHAHID MEHMOOD Faisalabad

Default thought provoking indeed...

just couldn't help feeling sorry for those poor souls who couldn't b allocated bcoz of this "quota system." i wish we soon do away with all kinds of quota as far as the posts of css r concerned... but till that day we must live with this fact that quotas have legal and constitutional support and no matter how hard we feel about the matter in which quotas are applied, they r & will remain a fact of life...
