Exclamation Prospective changes in CSS 2012 policy

Hello ppl,

In yesterday's Dawn 25th jan, in the letters to editors, the FPSC has officially acknowledged the fact that some changes are being considered in the scheme and syllabus for the CSS exam 2012.
The rumour doing the rounds these days is that the changes FPSC is considering for the CSS 2012 are on the following lines:

-Urdu and public administration as compulsory subjects
-Age limit extended to 30 years
-Post-graduation degree(masters) compulsory for the eligibility to appear in the exams (This is by far the most worrying as this would dis-enfranchise all the aspirants who have done bachelors alone and would be otherwise ready for the xam 2012. And the announcement any time in this year would be too late to do post-graduation to appear in the xam 2012)

How far do these rumours need to taken seriously??
what does the forum think??

There is also another ambiguity about chances to avail exam whether they will upheld the previously availed chances or start new count.

Untill announced officially by FPSC , nothing could be said with conformity. As for as the issue of age is concerned , proposal of age rise was rejected by federal cabinet. Now no authority whatso ever it is below the stature of Federal Cabinet can amend the rules regarding age limit.

As per information the age extension proposal is lying with the Prime Minister (head of the Federal Cabinet). It is up to his discretion whether to approve or disprove the proposal. Chances are he will approve it if Chairman fpsc Rana Bhagwandas demanded of him and apprised the media of the positive consequences it will bear for the competitive spirit of the css exam. As far as Federal Cabinet is concerned that too is now in favor of age extension even up to 33 years due to continuous popular pressure, but Prime Minister wish that two of his politicians should be granted fpsc membership. That's the problem he is delaying signing the age extension proposal because fpsc members do not approve of members of national assembly becoming part of the selection board thinking that will damage the repu of the institution.
Basic qualification to be raised from Bachelors to Masters (or 16 years equivalent) has originally been the idea of the world bank who wants to see more educated people to come forward. The Chairman fpsc is strongly in favor of this idea because it will add to the prestige of the institution, selecting best of the best for the administrative jobs.
Let's wait and see! Where the cat jumps.
