JazibRoomi, the rest of the world will reach far-away Pluto and beyond and our people will still be grounded here on earth searching for Dajjal, Yuj Majuj, the murky water where sun sets, the fly that has poison and its antidote on its two different wings, etc.

The fact is that Bronze Age/Iron Age tales are found in prose, with each word potentially meaning vastly different things. What happens as a result is that these general stories can be applied to just about anything. So Dajjal is everything from Socialism and modern technology to Mullah Omar and Ahmed Cool 2007.

Coming to the topic of the thread, I don't think there's a chance of any global conflict arising from the Arab revolutions. For starters, the revolutionaries are pro-West and pro-democracy so I don't see how that can lead to conflicts. Secondly, who would that world war be against anyway? In fact, who would initiate it? I think the question is so absurd that it doesn't even merit a response....

I myself never like relating an event with qayamat ki nishaniyaan. But one has to admit that the history of Arz e Muqadas and its relevance to religious mythology is really amazing, perhaps most striking for me is the re emergence of the name Israel from no where (ya bani israel). So one may speculate as how this change is going to effect Arab Israel conflict and what if this "positive" change would be going to make Arabs, in the long run (say 50 years or more), powerful enough to challenge Israel and US in a way they always wanted to although nothing concrete can be said so far. But a change can be sensed in the battle field. Who knows what is the use of a new born baby.

I think enough material is there to write an essay on the topic:Is the present revolution in Arab world, harbinger of 3rd world war?

@ JazibRoomi

Try forming your own opinion. Follow their trail through history but for that you necessarily have to study religion too, because after all its all a matter of faith. There are 2-3 answers to who historically could be Zulqurnain, and perhaps youve come across that part already. But verify for yourself who it could really be and then follow the historical map of Caucus as described in Hadith. According to my research, I think, they are already around us.

@ Ahmed_2007_Cool

Depends on how you take religion. Mere superstitions apart, Dajjal, Gog magog, Mahdi are predicted by a man very important to us. You have to believe what The Prophet (pbuh) says or ones faith isnt complete. There are a lot of realities we'd rather not face. Skepticism then, gets us going. Plus these prophecies dont really apply to everything under the sun either. Its our fault we dont study everything in detail. Religion plays a vital role in world affairs to this day, and we have Israel to demonstrate that along with the conflict in Ireland, and internal Indian unrest etc etc. And before i sound like a nun, ill stop here

And there are numerous reasons pointing to the inevitability of A World war III- political, theological, conspiracy theories, economic and social, predictions of some greats- you name it. One cant escape it for too long. Wars never occur by themselves, they are CREATED by opportunists. This Arab unrest is a road to that war because there is ample opportunity and money to be made from the region. And haven't you noticed the alarm and cautionary tone taken by Russia, Iran and China when NATO intervened in Libya? This will eventually lead to a clash because NATO is trying to gain hold of a region important to everyone and from where the route to most states gives way. This is a big bone of contention.
