Default Osama Trauma:Few questions

Abbottabad operation has traumatized the whole nation but we are seeking refuge in conspiracy theories for self satisfaction.what i have learnt , the generla perception of the people is that

1-The said operation was just a drama on the part of ameircans to boost their morale , find justification for withdrawl of troops from Afghanistan and add a great achievement on credit side of democrates in upcoming presidential elections. I assume that all the speculations are true( Though We have to believe then that Republicans are fools who are staying silent on this: besides the whole word being also fool)

2-Our leadership especially the political leadership is disloyal to national interests.

Does these two facts trivilize the damage that this event has caused to our national integrity , repute and soverignty?Simply noooo....

We are never ready to confront harsh realities, we believe what we want to belive and any thing against this is not accpetable rather not tollerable. We believe on conspiracies theories. We believe that whole worls especailly west intends to destroy us ,hence , we find no reason to find fault with in ourselves.

I solict opinion of learned members on the following questions that stucked my mind in the wake of this incidence.

1-Undoubtedly our political leadership cant be absolved on surrendring soverignty to USA.But it is also reality that matters relating to national security exclusively falls under the domain of military and politicions have little say over it.Political leadership cant take any decision on its own.Besides , our role in current military compaign of USA was initially decided by a military leader whereby we surrundered our soverignty on many issues.I belive if such decsions are atken in parliament howsoever incompetent are full of uneducated members, it would have been respected by the world and we would have a moral strength to settle reasonable terms with USA.

2-We are feeding a major chunk of our resources to military.Their residence, hospital, educational institutions etc is just superb and doesnt seem to be the part of this poor country.Their budget and accounts are byond the scope of audit. But has our army has been successful in discharging its prime responsibility? It must be looked in to.

3-Should we think to curtail our defence budget. For national security we should enter in to regional alliances , spend the money of economy, education etc?In the current era no one can dare to enter in to armed conflict with an economically strong nation.

4-Again, national security is prime responsibilty of our military.Have they not failed to take notice of this incidence? If they are failed , should they not be held responsible for this?

5-I also belive that a petition must be filed in Supreme Court where all the concerned military and political leadership be summoned to answer as to how a an opeartion was conducted by forces of thirld country with in the vicinity of Military acadamy? Who is responsible for the reputational damage worldover? How they can assure that this nation is secure from any forign invasion ?

These issues may sound harsh but it is the time we should come out of state of denial, confront the harsh realities, respect the conflicting opinions in order to find truth otherwise our future is written on the wall.

It is now open secret beyond any shadow of doubt that key decisions are taken by Military leadership, and we dont see any betterment in this policy in near future. Perhaps, America will have to intervene to transfer decision power from military to parliament.
The Abbotabad incident is still not clear. I am not yet satisfied with the news in the air regarding operation and Osama's killing. This still seems to be a high level drama.
US operation has, however, unleashed and testified the perception of extreme security lapse, inefficient defence system etc, in the country. Obviously, our political and military leaders are not sincere to the country. Their only concerns are bank accounts, luxurious lifestyle, etc. and they have compromised our soverienty. We, being a dead nation, are paying for the same.

Our military devouring almost all our budget for what? To bring us on our knees to put our dignity in the dust bin and obey US?
They are answerable for every damage they are causing to this nation and country. They have failed to keep the boundaries safe.
Yes, there is a dire need to cut off our defene budget and put a considerable portion of budget to education.
Though, Mr.Kiyani has ordered an enquiry into the incidence, but it won't work now. US has earned what she wanted to.
However, filing petition in the Apex Court will not be a good idea. The Court has been threatening the Govt in that it will Army Cheif to get its order implemented if govt does not comply with the orders of the Court, and if Court and Army cheif are in confrontation, the Apex Court will loose its only card.

It's time that we make our country a Welfare State instead of Security State. We have heard a lot from our army that "Country defense is impenetrable".
We spend more than half our budget on military with no audit. No body can ask the questions. There is no inquiry of East Pakistan Debacle,Kargil operation failure and i am sure no one will see the inquiry of this incident.
Our foreign policy, internal security and economy is in the hands of our Patriotic Generals. They can do any thing in the name of national security. And when you ask questions they say
"We are here to follow the orders of political leadership."

Although I am agreeing with you on Osama Operation and incompetency of our defence but this is utter exaggeration regarding defence spendings.

Please have a look on the following facts:

Pakistan defence budget expenditures during the last five years is seen on the decline. Available government data show that a sum of Rs194 billion was allocated from a total budget outlay of Rs902 billion in 2004-05, while in 2008-09 out of total budget outlay of Rs210 billion, a sum of Rs296 billion was allocated for defence. During the last five years, the defence budget ratio to government expenditures declined by 7 percent, as it worked out to only 15 percent declining from 22 percent of the total expenditures.

Source: Pakistan defence budget in last 5 years seen declining - GEO.tv

Defence Budget for 2010-11 is $6.41 billion which is only 2.6% of GDP. Our defence spendings is ranked 35th in the world comparatively low as Pakistan ranked 6th in the world in population.

These exaggerated and false figures normally spread by some NGOs. They are doing this because they got money to spread this sort of agenda and nobody ever raised voice for the accountability of these NGOs.

its has become a common(very common) misconception that we allocate more than 70% to defence.reality is otherwise..if my memory is working well the in the current year our budget is approximately 450 billion rupees.and it is not even 20% of the total budget.and before war started in waziristan it was considerably lower than what it is now...remember we are also fighting a war within this budget(though U.S also provides aid in this regard)

our budget has never never been 70% (based on my observation of the budgets of last two three years)
