agree...but dont you think strait of hormez is also an important factor of not launching a military strike in Iran, as west is already facing its worst economic crises...and blockade of oil through the strait would further aggravate the situation.???

No doubt,USA is super power but world is going to be turned from uni-polarity to multipolar.

Few days ago ,Hillary Rodham Clinton said upcoming policy of USA would be for Asia pacific that was solely meant to counter China.

Who said ,China is not being countered? role of Japan, death of libyan leader and affected investment of China in Africa are crystal clear instances of being countered.
Indian bid for Permanent Membership in UN is also one of the counter policy that was backed by so called Negro President Barak Obama during his visit to India.

There is also a cartel of various countries that day and night work for toppling the American hegemony down and a couple of them are also close allies of USA.

Take a look on the below points:
1. Iran (Shittee countered by Sunii Saudi Arab)
2. China (Countered by India,Japan, and by few countries of Arabs)
3.Pakistan (Countered by Afghanistan and India)
4.Russia (Countered by different states of Europe)

If countries role and development had not balanced America would have been no more Super Power.

the two that come in my mind are 1. muslim world will feel america is targeting them 2. burden of another war on the economy means more troubles at home. US cannot afford these risks as occupation of Iran is not of that much strategic importance as Iraq because Iran does not greatly influence the vast oil market of the middle east like Saddam Hussein's Iraq, which had even attempted to occupy it once during 1991.. in future had Saddam Hussein's Iraq aligned itself with any of the emerging powers, it would have greatly affected the US stand in the middle east than Iran.

i mean muslim ruling elite would also fall for such feeling,, and also don't generalize the feelings in Pakistan with that in the entire muslim world.. you can observe that Egyptians and Libyans lauded US and Western Allies' support recently... and another reason could also be to place Iran as a threat to sunni middle eastern countries, like you mentioned about regional balancing approach

so apparently we agree on the point that USA will not attack iran any time soon because of certain economic and political deterrents

yes .. only Israel has more problems with Iran, not the US, current status of Iran perfectly favors US strategic ambitions. The tension is only because of Israel

The United States is clearly playing a big game in the muslim world. Recent events have made it apparent that the United States wants Iran to be hostile towards Saudi Arabia. If the achieve this, the muslim world will further split in different groups. This is a great threat to the solidarity of Islam.
