London police investigating complaints against Altaf Hussain

ISLAMABAD: The London Metropolitan police is investigating complaints by hundreds of British and Pakistani citizens against MQM chief Altaf Hussain, British High Commissioner to Pakistan Adam Thomson said Wednesday.

Adam Thomson told newsmen that London Metropolitan police had received hundreds of complaints from British and Pakistan citizens against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s recent statements.

In an ominous sounding speech on Sunday night, Altaf Hussain told ‘the establishment’ to separate Karachi from the rest of Pakistan if the public mandate of his party was unacceptable, and ‘warned to make an example’ out of protesters at Karachi’s Teen Talwar (three swords).

“Under British laws promoting hatred and violence is liable to punishment and Altaf Hussain’s statements must be taken seriously.” Thomson said adding that London police was independent to investigate the complaints and was under no pressure from the UK government.

He, however, observed that Altaf had later denied making such statements.

Responding to a query about extradition the British High Commissioner said that that Pakistan and United Kingdom have no formal extradition treaty. He said that Altaf’s extradition was possible but there were legal complications associated with the process.

The only reason the establishment failed during its operation against MQM was the fact that it did not want to strike a final blow to the MQM, and wanted to use it for its own purposes. If the establishment wishes, it can reduce its influence to a diddly squat within days.

Yea, indeed you're blaming MQM not Karachi ( killing two birds with one

stone) .Lemme tell you being its citizenry , we are the one who suffer most

when MQM calls youm e soug and strikes etc. We are the insider. And this is

why we know in the name of MQM , Karachi suffers. You must criticize and

Altaf Hussein and its top brass, we hate them as much as you do.



As for rigging in the polls, who is not aware about our system? But still the

army was not deployed so that those sitting in Punjab can have a "freer and

fairer" votes. MQM exists only in Karachi and Hayderabad. The real

beneficiary of rigging is PML ( N). Try to know the role of Shafqat Mahmood

of PTI for PML(N).


My point is we must try to find out the gist of this game. Divide and rule is

not a cliche. If Altaf Hussien doesn't take stand for AAfia , then Shahbaz

Sharif also gives safe passage to Raymond Davis. Altaf Hussien must face

the music what he recently said against Pakistan. But there's a very thin

line between MQM and Karachi . Instead of talking about clean-up

operation in Karachi, catch the devil sitting in London.
