I believe force should be the last thing to use after every effort for talks and peace is exhuasted. I support the new govt in thier "peace through dailouge" strategy, but the talks will inevitably fail bcoz TTP is no ordinary militant group. They are striving for political hegemony and implementation of their-version of Islam and they will not settle at any thing less than that. Second, I dont understand on what grounds a democratic govt will hold talks with TTP when they have clearly denounced democracy being un-islamic.

If Pakistan were a wealthy country, no one would have pushed for negotiations. The thing is, our economy is crippled and this war is further deteriorating its condition. We don't have the economic resources necessary for the luxury to continue a war. So it is important to offer an olive branch to the TTP, at least until the economy recovers. The TTP might realize that democracy is getting stronger in Pakistan and might not pursue their ambitions in the future. If they do, however, at least we will have the economic resources for a full scale war to wipe out this threat.

Default Now that we have opened the Pandora's Box.....

A war against zealous guerrillas is the worst option. The situation aggravated during Musharraf's era when we resorted to war on Wana/ Waziristan along with Lal Masjid incident after which things worsened, if I'm not wrong. But my question is:

1) Why didn't we hold peace talks and negotiations when it was the only sane solution?

In my humble analysis maybe its the international powers who do not want us to carry peace treaties like countless drone strikes to raise local sentiment against us, unlimited supply of weaponry to the terrorists, attacks on our military bases, blasting innocent people which lends support to anti-Al Qaeda sentiment at our cost obviously. and now killing Wali-ur-rahman who supported negotiations. What so ever attack we have gets its way under TTP's name. This defamation will eventually set the stage for the world against our nukes in the name of "World PEACE", in fact this is what its all about I reckon.

2) Why terrorists leave Shareef governed areas just like Punjab? I have heard one of the Shareef bros said don't disturb us and we wouldn't disturb you.... so if the terrorists show leniency towards them, why didn't they lent their hand in saving the rest of the country from this plague?

3) What about the banned Lashkar-e- jhangvi, tayyaba, sipasahaba etc? They too get rabid sometimes.

4)Why Swat operation did not bring any bad consequences since its analogous to TTP situation?

5) Where are our intelligence agencies? Why it is easy to attack our most important bases and why can't they trace the key players when journalists can, as mentioned by our friend here.

Looking forward to response.
