How worst democracy is better then good dictatorship in a country like Pakistan
You're right in being suspicious about this comparison. I don't think this is a reasonable comparison anyways. I'll take best dictatorship over worst democracy any day (even though both are rather vague terms).

But in the context of Pakistan, this is clearly not a valid comparison. A more apt comparison would be: bad democracy is always better than bad dictatorship. In Pakistan we either have bad democracy or bad dictatorship (the corruption and crimes you've mentioned are common under both democracy and dictatorship). So between these two, it's wiser to choose bad democracy and strengthen the democratic institutions.

How worst democracy is better? Because it evolves. It has a self-evolving mechanism which is progressive in nature. We have empirical evidence of Democratic countries evolving and becoming better economically and also in other indices particularly those of human rights.

Dictatorships do not evolve. Take monarchy, look at Middle East. You want a country of that type? Or in Pakistani context look at Military dictatorships. Military dictators have ruled for a larger chunk of time after independence and we can put the blame of bad governance we experienced on them-we seldom do that, instead putting the blame on toothless politicos-

At least in democracy we can hope that tomorrow will be better. We will have our say. This is not true in the case of dictatorship. We will only feel alienated not only in the present but also in the future too.

No System can work if the ruling elite or implementing machinery is not sincere & serious to its job. This old lot of Politicians will be succeeded by their own seed, who could be even more wicked. Thousands of schools have been converted forcefully into stables by these feudals who are torch bearers of Democracy. How would people get enlightened to vote a right person unless they are educated-- How would evolution take place then?

I don't see any light at the end of tunnel, unfortunately.

I don't think democracy itself evolves, it's just an obedient servant of capitalism which guide it's evolution .

Atleast that monarchy has resulted in better living condition of the people. It is still better than the corrupt and despotic democracy that prevails in Pakistan. Term "democracy" adopted by Pakistan is western cursed one. We have adopted their faulty system and they are following the enlightened path of our Khulfa-i-Rashidin.

Always do remember that there is no superior system in the world than the one Islamic system given by Allah and implemented by Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W).

Democracy is different. It has this feedback mechanism which auto-corrects itself. Of course initially such problems exist. But who is Imran Khan? Asad Umer? And there are many other examples who're not progeny of old Feudal lords! Imran Khan rules a province now. Though I disagree with his policies but he is new blood. If there had been only dictatorship would Imran Khan even get a chance?

An education emergency is of course necessary. But that doesn't mean only educated people can vote rightly.

What better conditions? Look at the condition of women there? Middle Eastern countries are Racist. Take a look at the condition of expatriates! Is an Arab and a non-Arab equal there? Does a Pakistani get nationality there? This cursed 'Western' system is way better than the Middle Eastern political system.

That's not true capitalist either. But we're talking about a political system here. Tell me of a dictatorship which is not capitalist. Don't quote Soviet Union please.

A political system driven by an economic system, whereas in Pakistan the general aspiration of the people is political system should be driven by moral principles and thus democracy is not swallowed in this society and people like myself argue for strongman rule . Nevertheless we have our differences

Its good to crave for democratic system but one should not forget ground realities of this country. Had these both guys from middle class, they would not even be able to contest UC election due to its cost. Asad Umer has more than 50 cr assets which he declared in 2013 & IK is multi-millionaire.

Our next PM will surely be Bilawal or shareef. This vicious cycle may take decades if not centuries to stop.

I am in favor of any system which delivers, be it democracy, dictatorship or Khilafat. I am result oriented person & I give damn to bookish theories of different systems.
