Default GEO Banned Finally

Here we go guys all the channels of GEO network are taken off air except Geo Super by the orders of PAMERA.
The respective authorities have clearly set very dangerous precedent by bashing the biggest news network of Pakistan.Other channels might celebrate this decision but the seem obvious of the stark fact that they might be next in line. The establishment of Pakistan and almost all political parties were sick of this freedom of press as they were being criticized for their inhuman activities. So they were always looking for a chance to tame this freedom.
This decision also reflects the mindset of our society. Geo criticized ISI, Army and political parties but GEO was able to get away with this but it was a single Fatwa ( whose authority is challengeable ) which turned people on to force the shutdown of Geo.

PAMERA should have acted wisely by formulating the code of ethics by involving all the stakeholders but it resorted to easy way out by banning Geo without providing substantial arguments that why the biggest news network is being taken off air?

This can prove to be fatal for a democracy who is yet to be nurtured.Such decision has sent a clear message that anything againt status co would not be accepted.Yet again we have proved that we are society where dissent is abhorred and disagreement is penalized.
It is being admitted here that Geo is not paragon of virtue its anchors are sold to some political parties but so are the anchors of other networks. Banning Geo wouldn't help the cause of better Pakistan but reforming it certainly will.

If this insanity prevails then we might return to the era of PTV where newscasters are paid to turn the bleak night into sunny day.

Actually, Glorious day for Al-Bakistanis, black day for Pakistan.

With all this madness going on in the country for the last couple of weeks, Nawaz once again proved himself to be highly incompetent again with an excessive majority in the parliament. He is though the right person but at the wrong place and time.

Come on guys! Whatever PEMRA is doing is doing in public interest. So be patient and stop playing with the name of our motherland. I'm wondering where are the moderators? They must take strict action against those who've been violating the sanctity of our motherland.

Which public interest will PAMERA serve by banning geo?

First Tell me whom did Geo serve by blaming our elite intelligence agency in a jedwood justice like manner, I mean what proofs they had when they're levelling these allegations? It's a very right decision on part of PEMRA. The tone and the message of Geo on April 19th, 2014 had nothing to do with freedom of expression. Geo should face the force of law under Article 6 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Ok It was a naive show by GEO but in past they had done the similar thing with political elite ,judiciary and other law enforcement agencies but no body pointed a finger at them.why??? Because ISI is a holy cow? Mind you this attitude has turned us into a military and security obsessed nation that has tarnished the social fabric of the society. These holy cows should be criticized so that they can alter their inhuman and barbaric standard operating procedures. Yes Geo was harsh and being naive at that time but it doesn't mean it should be banned altogether because doing so will send a categorical message that establishment is a holy cow.
As long as the establishment remains untouchable we can forget any progress on socio economic or political front mainly because of its dictatorial nature.
Privatisation of news channel gave us hope of better Pakistan but that sounds a distant dream now.

Geo was annoying but it wasn't more annoying than killing and dumping people by our security agencies. If Geo was banned for leveling accusations which was more unethical than illegal, what should we do to our security agencies for their illegal conduct? Ban them too?
