An appropriate decision by PEMRA in order to preserve the honour and prestige of our only remaining institution and also to give a clear lesson to media that it has some limitations.........our national interests must be our prime priority

PAMERA should have acted wisely by formulating the code of ethics by involving all the stakeholders but it resorted to easy way out by banning Geo without providing substantial arguments that why the biggest news network is being taken off air?

This can prove to be fatal for a democracy who is yet to be nurtured.Such decision has sent a clear message that anything againt status co would not be accepted.Yet again we have proved that we are society where dissent is abhorred and disagreement is penalized.
It is being admitted here that Geo is not paragon of virtue its anchors are sold to some political parties but so are the anchors of other networks. Banning Geo wouldn't help the cause of better Pakistan but reforming it certainly will.

If this insanity prevails then we might return to the era of PTV where newscasters are paid to turn the bleak night into sunny day.
Another hasty,unprudent and biased decision
Should be tackled in broad-spectrum and justifiablity!

He is the elected leader of the house, who can be more than right than him in the current political environs? Default why only Geo?
the clash b/w Geo and ISI was from first day of this channel. not only Geo all media is on agenda of west. The problem of other media houses with Geo is fame of Geo. Every multinational company, local companies were paying their 60 to 70% media budget to Geo. Other channel have low rattings. Now this is right time provided by Geo itself to kickout her from race.
If Geo is going to be sealed then all media houses should be sealed.
Mubashar luqman in his shows informed his viewers many time Geo is promoting Indian culture in Pakistan, while his channel Ary zindagi gained rights of kapil sharma show. If you have to talk against Geo, first sweap your own. Its war of Geo And ISI. All channels should be sealed with geo.

This country is still learning Code Of conduct in all fields . Lets just hope Institutions do not plunge into more complex and confusing controversies than this ....

I would say that we should take the best one and leave the worst one.All guilty must be brought to courts without any discrimination!
