A Fair Chance.


The appointment of a credible person as caretaker PM is indeed reassuring for the nation. It is quite fortunate that an impartial, mature man of principles has been handed over the responsibility. What adds more significance to Mr Khoso’s appointment is that a person from Balochistan has been given this responsibility at this crucial time when the solution of the issues the province faces is being sought by ensuring the participation of genuine Baloch leadership in free and fair elections.

One can hope that a credible man from Balochistan can convince the Baloch leadership to participate in the elections. How much better would this have been had our politicians shown maturity and preferred national interest over party interests and decided the caretaker PM’s position in the parliamentary committees. The nation should now pray and hope that the caretaker setup and the Election Commission are successful in holding a free and fair election and the people of Pakistan are given a chance to decide their future.
