The selection process for SOA has become suspicious atleast for me, the staff told us that there are 8 vacant posts but only 5-6 were selected, and out of 5-6 2 are those whose typing speed is 29.75WPM while the other 2 are those who were on number 17 and 22 on merit list.

Which office are you referring to ?
Sukkur or Hyderabad ?
Selected candidates with 29.7 Wpm stand at what merit no. in the NTS list?
What is the typing speed of candidates at 17th and 22nd Merit no. ?

Perhaps they performed well in written as well as interview.,

Yes i am talking about Hyderabad and the guy with 29.7WPM was at 17th and the typing speed of the guy on 22nd was 33!
and nothing was asked in the interview!

Dear 29.7 if is rounded off becomes 30.
I don't know precisely why the candidates numbered 17th and 22nd could outclass those who are prior to them in merit list. I can just assume that their performance in written part/interview, their qualifications, experience etc earned them an edge.
For your own content you can also make a call to the A.R admin office of SHC on the number shared above.

The number of their vacancies and stuff.

29.7 is equal to 30 as per the rules of significant figures.

In 2013 too from Karachi top three position holders were not selected and the rest were also selected in arbitrary order. Keeping in view the simplicity of the interview this looks a little odd that authorities reject top candidates on the basis of the interview. The reason should be a lot stronger and convincing than that.
