Becoz passing the exam may take ten years, as the exam is not so easy. So it is beter to take exam after 1 year rather first waiting for 10 year for promotion as senior auditor and then passing exam in next ten years.
Besides, if a junior auditor passes the exam, some time they give him current (temporary) charge of AAO with financial benifit, until permanent promotion.
Further those junior auditor who have passed the exam have lodged an appeal in Court for their direct promotion as AAO on the plea that they have passed the exam and also have 3 years service as junior auditor. Case is under proces in court.

These are the main functions of PMAD so I am sure they will ask questions from these in Interview:

1) Maintenance of Accounts of Defence Services.
2) Payment of Pay & Allowances to Commissioned Officers, JCOs / ORs and civilians paid from Defence Services Estimates.
3) Audit and Payment of Stores indigenous and imported.
4) Audit and Payment relating to the Works of Defence Services.
5) Internal Audit.
6) Compilation of Defence Services receipts / Expenditures.
7) Preparation of Appropriation Accounts.
8) Payment of Railway and PIA Claims relating to the Defence Side.

Their main focus in Interview would be upon Internal Audit.

@Khana: What does they check in medical? Does a slight problem in eyesight create any serious problem?

Slight problem in eye don't create any serious problem. Medical test includes different blood and urine tests like HB, Hepatitis, Diabetes etc. and some X Rays.
