You should read the latest post by Mr. Tassawur who has worked in MoFA!

And if you are working in MoFA, then and only then you should be 100% sure
Currently and in the Advertisement, Assistant has the Scale of BS-15, if you are working in 14, you are in bad luck!

Incumbents of the post of Assistant before 01 July 2016 are now in BS-16! New ones will be recruited in BS-15

People, Salary of Assistant (BS-15) in MoFA is 26 ~ 27k

In the following link I have shed light on the technique of interview preparation. This post by highlighting the important features and areas of an interview , would definitely prove instrumental in helping prepare an interview in a convincing way.

As well as the preparation for this test is concerned, one should have grip on basic gk which is frequently asked in ppsc , fpsc tests. Moreover , one should prepare English from GAT General book particularly focusing Vocabulary, Antonym Synonyms and Comprehension. In the GK besides questions from basic gk , Islamiat, Pak study and Everyday Science questions are also asked. For these you may prepare them from some GK MCQs book of the like of GK Book by carvan publishers by Ahmad Najeeb. Instead of wasting time on memorising whole the book , keeping in view the short time available focus more on Islamiat , Pak Studies and EDS portions. Moreover , I would strongly recommend to read only MCQs portions of CSS Past 15 Years papers of Pak Affairs , Current Affairs , Islamiat and Everyday Science. Most of the questions would be repeated from them. All these solved mcqs of the past papers would be available on this prestigious forum.
As well as the questions regarding letter drafting and noting etc are concerned , they won't be that tough. As I recall few of the questions last time were,
Letter print is taken on which page
Options were
A4, Legal seize etc
Another question was where on letter date is written
Options were
Top Right Side
Top left Side
Bottom Right
Bottom left
So , you should have little familiarity with contents of a formal letter and should also have some familiarity with the basics of MS Office & Excell and their short keys.
Like ctrl+C= copy
Ctrl+V = Paste etc

Keeping in view the last time merit , you will have to manage to score a over 75 at least if you are from Punjab.

last time the age limit for assistant was 28 years +5 years. but this time as per ads the age is 25+5. Is there any chance of corrigndum for age limit ?
