Fresh appointee in BS-16 at federal level draws around 40K in term of take home salary, with basic of 15880. Basic of fresh BS-17 is 25440. there is around difference of 10K in basic only and this effect will affect other allowances too, which are on the basis of percentage to basic. Ceiling allowance is also admissible to all BS-17 at federal level and after plus minus it will provide an additional effect of 10K. So expected salary would be more or less around 60K.

well... for this you can take benefit of the loop hole. you can apply without obtaining DPC/NOC. later on, upon qualifying the written and call for documents submission, you can apply for DPC/NOC to your department, and if delayed, then you can send an advance copy of DPC/NOC with an application to the secretary FPSC that your DPC/NOC is in process and will be provided at the time of interview. I hope you are not talking about the fresh appointment, under training, in provincial services of BS-17. Any way, correct me if I am wrong by enlightening me with the details.

starting salary of BPS-16 is 30K where no extra allowance is admissible and in Bureau there is no extra allowance.

BPS 17 Salary is around 44K in federal.
