A share=8 and B's share is 6
now how(1/2 of 8=4 and 2/3 of 6 is also 4), so A's share is 8 not 6. |

obviously 2/3 is greater quantity so it is natural that B will get more than A Rs. 14 are to be divided in two persons: A & B, in such a way that A receives one half of what B receives, while B receives two-third of what a Recieves? how much did A receives? 6 8 10 9 3 answer is 6 because when A receives 50% then B receives 67% therefore if A receives 100% then B will receive 133% |

advice to read the question. 1/2 and 2/3 is not the total share rather these are the ratio of the total share. as you said 2/3 is higher than 1/2 so A'share must be higher to make its half equal to 2/3 of B's share. what u say???
