Today I had the interview... It was pretty tough interview... i wounder why people are not sharing detail about there interview.... i went there just for simple interview.... but personal there asks these questions :P :

>>Introduce Your self (I Introduce my self)
>> Why you want to switch your current job (for better opportunity)
>> Why you last changed your job (for better opportunity)
>>Your salary expectation ( 40,000)
>>Your current salary (40,000)
>>We are taking Finance personals for Karachi based position only.. Are you willing to come to Karachi?? (Yes; I am already working away from my home)
>> What do you know about PSO? ( PSO is an oil marketing and distributing company, imports oil and distribute all over the Pakistan)
>>Does PSO only import? or purchase locally as well ( I Said purchases locally as well. 1.75 Million metric tons locally)
>>Does we perform trading activity only or manufacture / produce something ( I said no... you only trade, he asks again... any other product we produce... i said you also deal in Lubricants... he said ok)
>>what do you Know about Bank reconciliation statement ( I Explain the bank recon)
>> What are the major account you view for error or recon the account statement (I answer we will check one by one each entry, he again asked what are the major head you will look for?? i said they are mainly bank charges that bank deduct without informing to company)

>> what type of loan you deal in bank (As i am a banker) ? ( I said we provide working capital loan to client like ERF-II, LC, Bill negotiation lines)

>> Tell us if some one asks for credit what we should do? ; as usually small proprietor dn't made financials. How will you judge? (I said we will assess from his working capital, from his bank account statement his sales will be verified)

>>Any other mean ( I said we will check the market, will ask other petrol pump owners in the same area about the character of the person.. then provide loan)

>> how much loan you will provide and why? ( I said he has been dealing with us for long time, as no one can ask for credit for very first time.. we have relationship with him... we can assess his repayment behavior as well)

>>He further argued something (which i have forgot) (I said we will observe there storage capacity at petrol station as well from the tanks at petrol pumps)

>> What are the main parts of cash flow statement ( Financing Activity, Operating Activity and Investing Activity)

>> If you issue stock for capital, where it will come in Cash flow ( when he was asking question, i just forgot three main parts of cash flow :P , i was thinking this is not investing, not even operating.... what was the third part... i was thinking in my mind....he asked again... i got so confused and said.... "Investing activity" :P)

>> Does you have idea of inventory valuation method. (yes LIFO and FIFO)

>>ok, in an inflationary period; what inventory costing method will you use to get high net income ( i said LIFO, he said why, i said when you buy a product it is cheap now it has been inflated and will show increasing value :P )

>> Do you have idea of aging of Receivables ? (Yes, these are the age of different amount outstanding like, 30 days, 45 days, 90 days etc)

>> Pass the accounting entries for provision of bad debts in receivables ( i Said for booking loss ?? he said yes.... I said we will pass "Debit the expense provision for bad debts" and credit the liability of specific provision for bad debts

>> Please pass the entry for write off of the same ( I said loss or write off.. he said you have just passed the loss entry... now after loss of receivable... write off the entry ... i said debit the Liability specific provision for bad debt and credit the.................. after waiting for some time... i said sorry.... i can't pass)

They said thank you....

One lady ask anything you want to ask from us... i said no....
