I have heard 80% of the scholarships are offered by China. Can any one share his experience or of some friend/ relative who have been to China or other country through CES?

lets answer your questions one by one:

Number of scholarship: it used to be around 200 in 2013-14 (from china only, i never heard of anyone getting CE scholarship from any other country)

process timeline: It will take 1-2 to months for IPC to mail shortlisted candidates

Merit list: merit list will be based on your NTS test score and they will observe regional quotas as per Govt. policy. top scorers from all regions will be mailed irrespective of specialization / field of study

letters/ University registration: you dont need any university letter/ admission etc (at least for china)
Course start date: september 2016
